Don't get me wrong, I like Coach Dooley but he is unnecessarily negative sometimes. JMO.

No one is ever happy with the offense at the first scrimmage.

I like that he is seemingly never satisfied. He demands alot from the players and is able to keep them grounded and working to get better. I dont veiw it as negativity as much as it is realistic. I think CDD knows what it will take to win in the SEC and it appears we dont have it yet.

As long as he can get them to get better, then I dont see anything wrong with calling them out in the media.

Well if he said "We are the best football team in the nation, we are going to dominate" then what would they work for? You've got to be negative on the first scrimmage so that the team aims higher for the next one.

I am glad coach Dooley is out coach. And i can see he learned a lot of Saban. We will be back on top before too long with Dooley.

What did everyone want him to say? If he says the offense was outstanding, we're in this same thread beating down Wilcox. If he told both units they were perfect, what are their attitudes for the rest of spring? Gotta get better. I like the message.

Dooley a negavol.

Hahaha. Good one.

On a serious note, the whole "we look bad" blah blah blah is getting pretty tired to me. He must've thought his LA Tech players didn't deserve to put on a jock strap.

This. Also, new great Dooleyism, responding to a question on whether the defense was ahead of the offense: "both units are behind. I don't know who they're behind, but they're not ahead of anybody."

It almost makes me think he's intentionally setting the bar low so we don't expect too much.

But Dooley hasn't said it was all bad today. He said the offense stalled in the first half and the defense looked better. That the offense put some drives together in the second half. Said nobody surprised him good or bad.

Its not so hard to be media savey if you will move beyond the headlines and sound bites. Its the first week of spring practice after all. There is some room for improvement.

He probably is saying the same if not worse things to the players behind the scenes. He's just trying to maintain some consistency. Just a theory.

He is telling the truth. We are starting year 2 of a major rebuild. Did we forget the football program was left in shambles a little over a year ago?...... too high of expectations by most people on here.
