Coach and player

That picture really strikes home for me. I have a stepson that I don't consider as stepson. Early on in our relationship, he was not very accepting of his mother's and my relationship. One thing really changed the dynamics of the relationship; he was going to his eighth grade class prom, and I helped him with his tie, researching how to tie a windsor knot, then putting it into practice. That was when we really became close. His bio dad is missing out on how fine a young man he has become. It's sometimes something that may seem insignificant at the time that is the changing point.

JH may never win a national championship, or even an SEC championship, but this is what Danny White knew he was getting when he hired him. A good, maybe not great - time will tell, football coach who cares enough about his players to help them do the right things. With the turmoil of the past years, I think it was important to set a solid foundation of character to build upon.

I think (hope) after all these years our current coach may actually be great. Too soon to completely tell, but lots of positive signs. I hope we have finally found our way out of the wilderness. I’m sure pulling for these guys.

Heupel is a classy guy who has his players’ back whether it’s a bad call on the field or a personal issue.

That moment he stood up for Jaylen Wright over the obvious TD that was stolen away from him, made me respect him even more.

The social media age has made me a cynic.

I just hope that for every moment like this that is captured on social media, there are a hundred impactful one-on-one interactions that we will never know about.

What I hear from players and recruits makes me feel like this is genuine.
