Tennessee, mainly on the strength that Auburn is in the middle of the Alabama desert.

The difference between the three, however, can probably be overcome by money, personality, or any other of the soft criteria that makes a person feel that a particular spot is "right."

Everything considered, UT is the better coaching position of the 3, and one of the premier jobs in the country.

UT. Hard to win at Clemson and even if you rule the Iron Bowl, your job is still in jeopardy at Auburn.

The simple fact that Tubberville could be out is absurd! Sure he may occasionally get rolled up by an Ole Miss-type, but at least he doesn't roll over for the big rivals.

As I posted in another thread, I think we are above Auburn and Clemson, would be interested to see how we would compare if Joe Pa stepped down at PSU after this great season for them and that job was available and if Bowden wins the ACC and walks away and they decide to go a different direction than Jimbo how we would match up against FSU in a coaching search.

Take off the orange-colored glasses. Clemson is the better job.

Of course I know Tenn has the more storied history, larger stadium, broader national appeal, etc. But from a prospective coach's view, Clemson offers SEC-like pay, SEC-like fans, SEC-like stadium, excellent recruiting territory in GA and the Carolinas... but does NOT have to contend with SEC competition or expectations.

Tenn ranks second behind Clemson. Auburn is third... assuming they have a coaching vacancy.

I would rather have a coach that didn't shy away from competition, but embraced it.

You play that competition, you get better... otherwise your weakness is exploited when you DO play that kind of competition... and the best coaches know that.

Its better to win in the real SEC than in a close SEC 'Like' joint.

.

For a school with such advantages, it is amazing that they haven't won a conference title since 1991. It is an attractive job, but it is not on the same level as UT or Auburn, IMHO.

Is this a scientific poll?
The reason I asked is because Sexton said that Clemson was a better job over the last few days and the media here in Knoxville and Mike Hamilton have said repeatedly that the Tennessee job isn't as great as most people here believe it is.

If the pay is the same, Clemson is the better place to go. Where else could you last 10 years without even winning your division the way Bowden just did?
