Clay Travis tweeting UT students to return to campus this Fall

I’m calling it now.. fans will attend but I imagine we will see an “at your own risk” type deal! We have heard it over and over again that coaches and teams wouldn’t want to play without fans and by the time July 4th rolls around I would say 75% of states will be beyond phase 3 per state. If everything is open to as normal as possible I don’t see a reason to keep fans out like many have stated if you don’t feel safe stay home but otherwise at your own risk(I will take the risk) enter the stadium as normal

Clearly. But if they are willing to shoulder liability risk in the one situation I don’t think it’s much of a leap to the other.

Not totally disagreeing. I just have a feeling that sports will be one of the last facets of life that get back to "normal."

There is a bit of a difference between 30k kids and staff scattered in small combinations throughout campus and packing 100k shoulder-to-shoulder.
Jeez dude, enough with the negativity. You have to have students on campus in order to have a football season, it’s the 1st step and it’s a positive thing. Good grief.

I am not saying it's not a positive development if it happens as planned. I simply disagree with the suggestion that having students on campus means you can immediately host massive sporting events. There are too many variables at play.

You can still host without fans, or with limited fans. No problem.

I'm impressed that the press release mentioned the virus originated in Wuhan, China. I thought UT had officially gone off the PC deep end especially with the recent survey about renaming the alumni magazine "Tennessee Alumnus" to a gender neutral title.

UT needs to worry less about the PC stuff and quit trying to become the Yale of the southeast and just get back to being a football factory....those were great times and I miss them dearly.

Regardless of what happens prepare for the liberal pearl clutching at the south's yearly embrace of SEC football in stadiums... I can hear the article headlines now...

Here are my initial predictions ...

Ah yes, Clay Travis, the well known self-proclaimed genius he is. He's never wrong....mostly because when he is wrong he either ignores he said anything or immediately moves the goalposts.

I agree. The liberals are continuing the charade. I believe they hate athletics and competition. They will stymie all sports as long as they can.

For what it's worth, I think concerts and movie theatres are just as likely to be held shut.

Movie theaters are already in plans for re-opening. Concerts are often in shared space with sports, so they will be collateral damage. Large shows will be an interesting case in relation to sports. I think there will be an effort to kill youth sports for as long as possible too.
