Starting 11: Now that Auburn Is at the Top, Gene Chizik vs. Gus Malzahn -- NCAAFB FanHouse

6. Derek Dooley now owns the worst defeat in Neyland Stadium history and the worst loss to Alabama in Neyland Stadium history.

And he's only coached seven games at Tennessee.

So far Dooley's entire coaching strategy seems to be pointing out the flaws of his team. How about starting with your own inability to get 11 players on the field for the snap? The Vols have had either too many or too few players on the field for snaps in five of their seven games. Will it get better any time soon? Nope. Dooley's currently put together the SEC's 10th best recruiting class for 2011 despite being able to point to every position and offer playing time to anyone who is interested.

At least we can rely on the program that Dooley "built" at Louisiana Tech to offer hope for the future.

Wait, it is a 38-point underdog to Boise State this week?

Time to stop drinking the Dool-Aid. He's not the answer to what ails the Vols.

Tennessee's program will not turn itself around until the recruits that we sign become solid, constant contributors to every single game. simple as that. it also doesn't help that the 2009 class turned out to be a complete bomb... ...thanks a load, kiffin.

He makes valid points.

I agree to an extent. I think its tough to judge a recruiting class mid season, but if he can't get us ahead of the Mississippi State's and Arkansas' of the recruiting world by the end of the season with the recent renovations and the amount of openings I will start to worry. That is by the end of the recruiting season.

I want a job where I do nothing but take potshots at people and don't have to account to anybody for anything.

Travis will do whatever sells. Remember, he is the guy who asked Tebow at Media Days if he was still a virgin. Now that's reporting!

I 'might' be in minority now but I want to give Dooley more time. it's still too early and I still support him 110%.

Excuses suck, and in general, are annoying to listen to. However, they are sometimes actually based in reality. Dooley keeps pointing out deficiencies in the team because they actually are deficiencies. And as far as the recruiting class being ranked 10th, that would be a great argument if today were the day after NSD.

I like clay travis even though he is the biggest self promoter on the nashville sports scene.

But all he is doing is crying about this stuff over and over again and when I say crying i mean he sounds like a B$&* no one is making him watch the games he can go watch George Washington FBALL if he is so tired of this.
His tweets are sounding like a suicide letter.

This is sort of like entering a Yugo in the Daytona 500 and then pretending to be surprised halfway through the race when you're 5 laps down . . . Where you knew you'd be in the first place.

Are you saying that hiring Dooley is like driving a Yugo?

The program has become a joke. The coach is a joke. The team has no leaders because the coach isn't a leader. Stopped just short of calling him incompetent, but it was certainly implied.

I would agree with all of that. Dooley is at home in Green Acres, not on the sidelines of a Division I football field.

travis sounds like a baby
he has dooley on the show from time to time and he will kiss the ring and not be man enough to say any of what he writes to him.

he is just a panty waste of a lawyer who made himself famous by asking a 21 year old if he was a virgin.

You just dont get it. I guess you are one of those fans that think we are going to get a bunch of 4 and star players on NSD. We are 10th in the SEC right now behind the likes of Miss. State, Miss, Arkansas and South Carolina?
