I would be much happier with a guy who has shown steady, measurable improvement at a mid-major than a guy who finished 4th in the conference in his second year and won two games, though.
He is, but a good portion of that was based on the fact he'll take the job. I'm not saying he wouldn't succeed at the SEC level, I'm saying I'm not sure about his ability to recruit.

UT, nor Iowa has ever been a consistent top 25 basketball program. CBP took UTs program to its highest level ever and I see nothing to suggest he was a proven high level recruiter when he got here. Bruce did a great job of hiding the fact that UT has never been a basketball school that every player in the country is going to look at. A high energy guy who can outcoach people and consistently win could get us back to the level CBP has us at. Looking for these proven high level recruiters will find us a bunch of guys saying no thanks. Its UT basketball lets be realistic here.
