UT football (as of right now) has a chance to win 8 or 9 games next year...
Also said Martin seems to be a good hire.

I don't think anyone was expecting something spectacular this year. 2012 is where Dooley will be judged.

It could happen, but I'm content with my measured expectations for now.

I don't think you understand what i'm saying.....I honestly expected him to predict another 6-6 or 7-6 season.

I'm perfectly content with 8-9 wins, it just came as a surprise.

8 is expected. 7 will be a disappointment.

9 is the ceiling.

7 is expected not including bowl

6 will be a disappointment

Agree 9 is the absolute ceiling:
- no key injuries
- some surprise players emerge
- get some critical calls in close games

The East has a lot of questions this year - every single team. The team that answers them the quickest will be in for a great season. The Georgia game, I think, looms large for these Volunteers.

Our questions are depth, D-Line, and throwing options for Bray. Easy to air it out against the worst in the league with our senior leaders last year. Need a lot of guys to step it up two years, especially on DL and receiving corps.

I say 13 in the ceiling. I am not much for saying we cant win a game. If all of you were coaches would you just cancel the 5 to 6 games you are saying there is no way no matter what that we can win? I say we win them all until someone proves me wrong.

I'd say 8 is the ceiling

I wouldn't.

It all comes down to the OL. This could be the most talented group of OL's top to bottom that UT has had since the NC years. If they come close to their physical potential as a group then 8 is definitely NOT the ceiling. If they play like last year then this is a 6-8 win team.

Agree, but there also needs to be serious improvement in our front 7 on D.

Our offense has the potential to put up some big numbers this year, but if we don't see some marked improvement out of our defense, it might not matter against some of the better teams.

Also, Da'Rick needs to step up in a big way. We've already had a glimpse at how special Hunter can be, but now we need to see if Rogers can also produce.

I would throw LB in there as well. If A.J. Johnson is special that would go a long way to filling a void. Health of some of the others (Lathers/King) could be a problem.

I'm saying 8. We have 6 games (vandy, uk, mtsu, montana, cincy, and buffalo) that should undoubtably be wins. Also we play Scar, LSU, and Uga at home and surely we could win 1-2 of those 3 also I feel like florida and arky are beatable this year too.
