I didn't read it as outright critical. But there was definitely an element of "What the heck is going on over there with this new coaching staff?"

I don't understand why they could not use Smith for all the other sports since they are paying him for two years and use Ausmus for the football staff exclusive. Must be some strong feelings, but there could have been some efficiencies there besides just paying him off.

He could pull a Browning and work for free somewhere else.
