I saw where Chris Low wrote an article on Volquest about the TN decline in talent at def line. Has anyone read it?

I was curious what was in there and if there were any corroborators to the "hypothesis."

it pretty much said our Dline is the worst its been since '93... he named off some of the Vols Dline who have made it to the NFL and said we dont have anyone worthy of being drafted... Dan Williams will be starting for JT Mapu... Southern Miss has a soph tailback that has rushed for over 100 yds in 8 of his 14 career games and their tight end has NFL potential.. Ben Martin should be ready for the Fla game.. and of couse all the linemen say they didnt play Tennessee football last week and are prepared to bring it this week?

Slightly off thread but did you see where John Henderson likes to be slapped in the face a couple of times before kickoff? It was on CNN this morning.

There are a couple of videos of that on youtube.

Takes a brave man to slap John Henderson.

The title of the thread confused me. I thought Chris Low was going to be playing on the D-line. Figured we'd take anyone we could get at this point.

according to HV we dont need to recruit anymore DT's so we must be stocked, I just wish we'd taken them to Cal with us.

Does this revert back to the argument of 2 and 3 star recruits of poor quality and/or the inability to develop them?

Hell...I got 4 years of NCAA eligibility left....if a 59 year old can still play, Id be happy and proud to wear the BIG ORANGE!!!

and E-Mo.

Good friend of mine.

Perhaps THE most under appreciated Vol in recent memory.

He was/is the most dominant HS player I have ever seen in person. That includes Eddie Moore, Riggs, Dante Hickey, Sands, Bolden, Jarvis Smith, the Blue brothers, BJ Coleman, the Bullocks brothers and so on... Noone could hold Eric's jock, as a safety or RB.

He was a stud indeed. I didn't see him at Marion Co., but I remember when he was a freshman walking around on crutches at UT. He became one of my favorite LB's ever (Raynoch, E-Mo and Al will never be touched as a trio)

Is he still at Baylor?

Just 1993???

I thought it was the single worst D-line performance that I could think of since the late 80s....back when Bama steamrolled us with Bobby Humphreys.

It makes me sick just thinking back to then.
