I just got done listening to Chris Low and he said the constant mentioning of Kiffin of "we got the number one player in the country." setup Bryce to fail here. He also said if Kiffin was still here that Poole would have beaten out Bryce for the starting rb spot. I highly doubt that would happen but who would have knew. Low simply forgot about the problems he was going through back home that led to his departure. Brown...would he have still left if Kiffin was still here? Something to ponder.

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, does it still make a sound? That, also, is something to ponder. We'll probably never know the answer to either question.

Dont worry about Brown. Poole is a more ellusive back and Williams and Oku are there in need of a change of pace back. Poole will go for over 1,000 you can count on that if our O line comes around.

I personally think that was going to happen either way as well, but that's just my opinion.

Poole hits the hole hard, runs hard every play and wants it glad he is on board. Tony Williams is a beast I think he will surprise some people this season.

Did he ever really feel comfortable in Knoxville?? I think it is almost the same thing with his brother leaving Miami.

Chris Low is not exactly correct 100% of the time. Who knows who would've started this year? But, Kiffin obviously felt like Brown was better than Poole last year. Also, how does Low know that Kiffin saying that screwed him up? How about the fact that Brown had a hip pointer and was running behind a GREAT running back? It doesn't have to be a drama deal, but Low always seems to make it one.

I think what Low is referring to is that Lane's constant reminder that BB was a top 3 player in HS football had set the bar extremely high for BB. If I could read his mind(Low that is), I'm betting that he was simply saying that with the constant chest thumping by Kiffin, it would be so hard for Brown to live up to expectations here in Knoxville that it would take a Heisman like career for some people to not say he was a failure here at UT. It is hard to any player to live up to the hype more times than not.

The BB deal sort of reminded me of Gerald Riggs. He was supposed to win the Heisman, too. I wish BB the best, but agree that Poole will be better as an every down back for us. Kiffin used BB to show any future recruits that he would give them the opportunity if they came to UT. GBO!

I love hearing stuff like that. It's true though, you could feel the intensity when Poole came in for his 7or8 total attempts for 09. He wants to play football. I say let him play. I remember a guy named travis stephens, 5.9" 190 that really wanted to play too.

yes, and yes again. Now we dont have to ask either one anymore.

If this story about playing BB over Poole for appearances is true you have to question Kiffin. The players know who gets it done in practice and if Poole is sitting they are going to question am I next? Is the next big recruit going to come in and take my playing time regardless of how much better I am?

After the O&W game I made some comments on here about Poole not being quick enough. But after seeing him in the bowl game I will admit I was dead wrong. He was the best back wearing orange in that game.

How many carries did he have?

You guys are putting the cart before the horse, Poole looked good on his very limited carries, often against a wore down defense in the latter stages of a game.

Perhaps he was running so hard because he wanted to see the field, now that he is essentially being deemed "the man" by default, who knows how he will take it.

I'm no gloom and doom type of guy by any means, I think he can be a productive runner while at UT, I just wouldn't base my assessment off of him getting a few touches here or there.

Will be interesting to see if he becomes a 20 carry a game type of player, and if so, when he has a 18 carry 35 yards performance how many people will be wishing Bryce was here.

I drank the Kiffin cool-aid like most of you...But...I now think it is worth loseing Brown to be rid of Kiffin because he was a liar and a cheater and the NCAA would have built a branch office in Knoxville had he stayed!
