we will see. he is going to have to show a lot more desire to convince these coaches he is ready to play

I think the main problem with CD is, he's too nice a guy. I think the move to DE will help CD. Coach O is what CD needs, O will hopefully help bring out that mean killer attitude that CD needs!
If CD gains some weight, its a great opportunity for him. Not a lot of depth at d-line, & this utilizes CD's skill set much better. He was never a ball hawk on D, just a relentless pass rusher! He told me he was working his rear off trying to get some playing time. He also said he loved it at DE, & he feels like his old self again. Coach O recruited CD at ole miss, so they know each other well.
There is no doubt the transition to college has not been smooth for CD. I won't give up on him though, he gains some weight & could be the beast every one expected him to be. I know he got the potential & the heart! CD has 3 years left, He's got to want it, play with a chip on his shoulder, & prove the doubters wrong.

It didnt take Ayers one season to get to the NFL, but he still made it.
Hopefully CD can bloom late as Ayers did and payoff for the team in the long run

I'm hearing a lot more positive reports on the hill regarding CD lately.
I've heard he looks a lot more comfortable at the DE position. IIRC, I remember one poster saying, he saw CD's first practice at DE, & its the best he has looked so far. I think he said he caught a few in the spring also. CD is starting to figure it out, & is vastly improving each practice.

Little was a full-time DE all the way up to his senior year. He was moved to MLB because of injuries to the starter (i forget who) of his senior year. He was not a great LB by any stretch. His best position was definitely DE.

I am disappointed that Chris Donald did not play Saturday? Is he hurt or is he just that far down on the depth chart?

Let's not give up hope. If anyone can develop and coach this kid up, it's the staff we have now.

You just never know when he is going to get "it". It sounds like he really needs a mean streak, especially coming off the corner. He has to want to rip somebody's head off. Nothing wrong with helpin them up, but he has to have ill intentions on every snap. Good Luck CD.

I really hope he turns it around and end up being the player we all expected him to be, but just like everyone else my hopes are dwindling
