yeah I don't know if it's real or not. I can say JH get's "yardage" out of most all his WRs and maybe tilts the scale that they should be drafted higher. I'll also say, we've not had the high end WRs coming out like we've got on roster this year...over next few years. I mean Hyatt was awesome his SR year, but, in reality, he didn't find his identity in JH offense until SR year...and obviously has struggled in NFL. I think the "route tree" or "JH offense" is just a cover for WRs, in reality, being top of the heap in pure talent....JMO

Last season, CJH added a LOT of new wrinkles to his offense and expanded the route tree for our WRs. He also added the Pistol formation etc. Brooks the Film Guy did a breakdown last season of some of the new routes and wrinkles and said that the WRs would grow their skills etc and it would put a lot more pressure on defenses. Which we proceeded to lead the SEC in passing yards and 2nd in passing TDs as well IIRC.

Yeah, I think it's just lazy commentary by press/evaluators.

Regurgitated crap imo. First of all the route tree is slants, posts, outs, curls, ins, etc etc. These guys have been running those routes since mid school 7 v 7. We run them too.
2nd, here is an example of Cooper Kupps routes in an 11 catch game. These aren’t route tree routes some obsess about. These are beating your man to get open or head on a swivel finding soft spot in zone. Bonsai tree routes maybe..

I hate the talk about Heupel's system, but until one of our WR's comes to the league and does well, it's going to be a topic. Hyatt has thus far been a dud, and not many others have blown it open. They get drafted, but it isnt clicking.

While I agree with your post, WR drafting has always been a crap shoot. Always. From every team in the League. There are only 64guys on planet Earth talented enough to be starting NFL corners. Those 64 are incredible though. To be able to beat those guys consistently is nearly impossible, and there aren't even close to 64 humans alive that can do it. How many NFL WRs would you say can consistently beat corners 1 on 1? Maybe the top10? So 10men on Earth? Look how many WRs get drafted every year though. Its always been a needle in a haystack situation.
