Texas fired him for a reason.... This is a school that needs a coach, and they're going the best possible coach even though he's lacking in the moral compass department. Unfortunately, there's several of those out there. They'll probably play it off as giving him a "second chance" if indeed they hire him...

Would be a great hire for them sadly.
Yep. And it's totally their M.O. to hold their nose to hire (or attempt to keep) someone.

Not only is he a really good coach, his fiance recanted basically everything she told police and the charges were dropped. They can always point to that, to the extent that hiring him is controversial.

Congrats to OM if they get this deal done. Nice seeing a school with some balls to not care about what others think when they know this is the only way they can get a coach of Beard’s caliber.
Lol. Go root for Poverty Bama if you want but I’d still bet a lot of money we win more than they do the next 5 years.

His own alma mater fired him for domestic violence against his fiancee. Ole Miss is like "That's okay, we'll play the second chances campaign" where he can redeem himself. You really have to love these schools that will win at any costs. I'll give Tennessee a lot of credit. They have a classy guy as the basketball coach that also is a pretty good coach.

Remember when Andy Kennedy got in trouble for assaulting a cab driver why yelling racial slurs? It appears that Ole grits is about to hire another coach with violence issues.

Must be nice to have never made a mistake in life and needed a second chance. Can you turn water into wine as well?
