Chism's car stolen, blood found in it...

LG your assuming a lot! Remember these are college kids. They do take each others rides all the time. When I was in school we did the same thing and many times without even asking.

I have never once, in my life, taken someone's car and not asked. Nor have I ever, once, in my life, heard of such a thing.

If that's what you think happened, then you are as naive as they come.

1) You assume Smith took it without telling Chism. You are assuming he did tell.

2) You assume that Smith left it there just to run to the hospital, and without calling Chism to tell him what had happened. You assume he didn't.

3) You are not accounting for the gap in time. You cannot account for the time either.

It is not at all uncommon for people to try to cover for friends who commit a crime with their car by claiming the car was stolen, only to find out as things progress that the police are alerted to people coming into ERs after car accidents.... with no car.

You are the one doing most of the assuming on this topic.

Well we did. The rule was never bring it back withou gas. But then again that was with my friends... You prolly didn't have any or many...:)

I admit this is all speculation. And maybe its all innocent.

I just doubt it is all and it seems to me that Pearl's suspicion index ought to be high enough for him not to go to the press and try to defend something that just isn't making a ton of sense.

It matters not, though. Smith will probably not be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and Chism will probably not be charged with filing a phony police report.

And maybe neither one did anything wrong. My main point is that Pearl ought not be getting involved with the discussion.

While I agree...I just have one question...

Why do you care so much?

and UT fans have absolutely no reason to worry? (just asking)

I don't believe anyone said anything like that...but I'll check....

Nope....they didn't but thanks for pointing that out...Every big time division 1 program in America has or has had some sort of problem affect them...

My thing is I don't understand why LawGator seems to be so concerned about Tennessee atheltics and what is going on with all things Tennessee and happens to be a Florida fan...makes no sense to me...

Because he's in denial of the problems at UF.

The problems at UF are of a different, and potentially far worse nature. Not so much Joiner, I think that's nothing. But the guys driving around with a buddy who gets shot at 2 a.m., I'm suspicious about the context for that.

I just wanted to see if people here would put aside their UT loyalties to admit, like I have relative to some of UF problems, that not everything is adding up here.

Some of you have, most of you haven't.

I have read this whole thread this morning and didn't really have much to add becuase it has already been said but sense you seem to get off to it (note: I don't mind you at all being here) I'll admit something doesn't add up...

There you go...

Hmmmm.... Why would someone take their friend's car, get in an accidenrt and be a little bloodied, and run away from it and ask the friend to report it stolen? Hmmmmm....

Duh.

My point: What is there to cover up other than failure to notify police of the accident? Whether or not there was a cover-up, which would be silly for this, it's just leaving the scene of a one-car accident.

While you are doing all of this speculating, why not finish the job and start speculating about what crime(s) Ramar Smith committed with Chism's car Saturday night/Sunday morning?

Pearl is the head coach. The head coach always gets notified and makes a statement when a player gets into a situation that reaches the media.

But a coach rarely explains substantively what factually happened. He's putting himself out there on a limb that he doesn't need to visit. Surely we can agree that he would be better off leaving this alone, as coach.

Incidentally, is there any coverage of it up there or in the general UT media circles questioning it like I am?

I haven't seen Crimedawg online today, so I would say it is a possibility.

Those are the facts as they have been reported. There is no assumption among them; they came directly from the news reports of the police reports and statements of involved parties.

You don't like the fact pattern so you are assuming a crime has taken place. You don't understand some of the behavior so you assume a conspiracy. On what are your assumptions based? The fact that Ramar used Chism's car without asking? The fact that he went to the hospital without waiting for a tow truck?

If facts different from the parties' statements arise, I'm sure we'll all here about it. But for now, in the absence of any other evidence, I'm willing to go with what Smith, Chism, Pearl, the University, and the Knoxville police (a department that has not been overly lenient on UT athletes in the past, I might add,) have publicly stated.

Even if what you are saying is true, name me one person (and this includes the president) that dots every i and crosses every t.Name me one person that is stupid enough to incriminate himself. Why did metro Nashville hire a bunch of cops and a lot of them had felony convictions? Why are you so adamant about convicting a Vol on circumstanial evidence and that is even weak. It's a bump in the road is all it is.The media is trying to sell papers.Personally I'd like to know why the RA singled him out (unless he could smell it).

ATTORNEYS :finger3:

Does anyone really give a hoot what this gator legal aid thinks? :shakehead:

:Bbiteme:

Chism's and Smith's stories are probably garbage....but who cares ?

Tony Joiner and the tow company owner's story is probably an even bigger bunch of garbage.....but again who cares ?
