If and/or when Derek Dooley is not successful here at Tennessee, what are the chances that we go after Chip Kelly as our next head coach? Do you guys think he would leave Oregon for Tennessee, and how do you think he would do in the SEC with his explosive offense? After watching him last year, and the first 3 games of this year I am very impressed with his offense as well as how he conducts himself on and off the field. I think, with Tennessee's tradition, recruiting resources, and facilities (not to say Oregon's facilities aren't good) he would be quite successful as the head man in Knoxville. Just a hypothetical question for fun. Would like to know your thoughts on him. Thanks!

He won't be going from Oregon to Tennessee. That would be a huge drop for him. USC on probation for two more years, Corvallis, ASU, and UCLA hardly have a QB. Everything is going well in Eugene and I doubt he would leave for any job. He did grab Seastrunk out of Texas last year.

Sorry but I don't care who is available for next year. We have a coach and players that need us to rally behind them. As Vols we are all in the same boat We can't take the snaps for them or call the plays so we have 2 choices. Complain or sit down and row.

no way kelly leaves eugene to take over a down program. it would take 3-4 years of recruiting to get the players he would want. plus, kelly is an offensive guy, defense is key in the SEC

If Dooley gets fired, the Tennessee job is going to have the appeal of an overcoat in hell.

If you feel this is a stupid question then do not respond to it. Move onto the next thread. It is quite simple. Grow up a little bit man. Some of you guys on this site crack me up. Get a life.

agreed. if dooley is let go in 3-5 years, they would have a better shot at hiring alcoa's coach then a top college coach

From the options we had, you act like that's a bad thing. I played against Rankin when he was at Riverdale for 4 years, he is beyond solid.
