Chevrolet met with all the teams it supports in NASCAR individually to discuss the amount of budget cuts there will be coming. No team owner has revealed the extent of each teams cut, but it is possible Earnhardt-Ganassi will be cut out completely. It is no longer a question of if but of how much.

Wouldn't be surprised if more cuts come other than to Chevy. How about those that are outside the top 50 teams? Is it possible? Just curious. There are about 60 some drivers. I'd guess that those who are not making the show each year might consider calling it quits becuase of either sponsors or funds will quit. Those who only run in the road courses race other places rather than NASCAR.

rbroyles,
Do you think DEI would have survived if Theresa would have given Jr. what he wanted to stay? I'm not saying she should have and she had every right to do what she did but do you think she made a bad business decision letting Jr. go? I'm thinking 49 percent of something is better than 100 percent of nothing but I don't know the full story.

I don't know all the details either, but if Dale, Jr. were still with DEI, so would be Budweiser or whoever replaced Bud if they would have left. That kind of sponsor support should have kept DEI independent and viable. Dale, Jr. doesn't have to win regularly to draw big buck sponsors. If giving up part of DEI would have done what I suggest, would that be a better decision than what appears to be going to happen as a result of the decision Theresa did make?

Yeah, I would say a solid team of Jr amd Truex and possibably a 3rd driver whould have went a long ways to keep them independent. How much of the company did she loose when they merged with Gannassi?:whistling: Probably most of that some 50% Jr wanted to stay there.
