We'll be better next year. Milton is a stud and our defense will be better with each recruiting class.

No one has stopped our offense yet. Bama won't either. Bama will lose to the Vols this year, their schedule is set up perfectly for us to beat the gumps.

I think we will be fine next year on offense and our defense will continue to improve. With regard to being Georgia before Kirby Smart.. Sure I want to win the East and the SEC and national championships, but let’s take a look at what that actually looked like.

In Richt’s tenure they were 145-51 overall and 83-37 in conference play. From 2001 to 2015 he had:

- 1 season with 13 wins
- 1 season with 12 wins
- 2 seasons with 11 wins
- 6 seasons with 10 wins
- 1 season with 9 wins
- 3 seasons with 8 wins
- 1 season with 6 wins

The above all numbers include post-season play. His worst season, 2010 was 6-7 and he went on to to have seasons of 10-4, 12-2, 8-5, 10-3, and 10-3 in his last year. He consistently had good recruiting classes which greatly helped Kirby Smart.

So I think there are many worse places for a program to be than to be the new Georgia.

Just curious to understand your position on the Vols two years ago… football is played game to game and season to season. Speculation is just that and given the current state of college football with the transfer portal and NIL, anyone making statements like this is being foolish.

All programs take a step back, but given the trajectory of this team, the offense isn’t going anywhere. The defense only has to be slightly better to improve the team. They will beat teams that may be more talented on scheme. No one on this board ever truly expected the type of turn around they’ve had, given the roster of players and the defections from the coaching change. It was a multi year rebuild that is way ahead of schedule.

If they are scoring points with players nobody wanted, just imagine what this will look like next year and the year after when they have a couple more recruiting cycles and a few more players at key positions. Explain it away all you want, but it’s coming and there’s not much anyone can do other than accept the reality; football programs live in cycles, and this one is on its way up.
