Does anyone know if this will happen again this year, or is this being done away with like the checker helmet stripe, Smokey jerseys, etc??

We should do it for Florida. It looks so great.

It was started by fans.
Bring it Volnation. We got this. How loud can we get for our guys that have been busting it for so long?

After 10 years of disappointment I say at least wait until we see the team play West Virginia. We actually may have to do it for UTEP. Hope not just saying.

It is the most awe-inspiring sight in sports that these eyes have beheld.
Even a smattering of off-colored clad fans of our opponent cannot rob it of its glory.

I don't know when or which game, but it will be done. It's too iconic to be disposed. We got the idea from the University of Oklahoma, true. But the orange & white combo is so much more eye-catching than the OU crimson & white and far more photogenic. It just stands out on TV and still cameras too well. Then there's the fact the UT's checkerboard orange & white endzones is so well known. It's just too iconic to cast aside. On top of that the original effort was a fan driven thing. If either Pruitt or the administration tried to stop it, it will be a massive failure. You just don't "fork" with Volnation. So yes, it will happen. I just don't know when and which game. If we do it for a earlier game, I guarantee you it will be done a second time if we astonishingly end up entering the Alabama game at 6-0.

Please NEVER do it for the Bama game.
Way too many Bama fans there that will mess up the checkering.
They buy every avail ticket on black market from casual Vol fans trying to make money.

Have you ever been told, “Don’t work harder work smarter.”? Worst advice ever. To be successful you have to work harder and smarter. Sure you can get by giving your 75%, but to really be great you have to “give all”. It’s hard to give all. It’s smart to give all.

As woodsman posted, if we are 6-0 headed to the Bama game we won't have to worry about fans dumping tickets to the Elephants. Neyland will be a checkered madhouse and I'll be ready to tear down some goalposts.

As cool as it looks UT's record is 1-3 when checkering Neyland.

I still say keep doing it just because it looks awesome.

Agree completely but the picture you used is a photoshopped picture this is what it looked like with actual off colored opponents
