Nico and Boo weren’t transfers so character and other risks are a part of the process with high schoolers too.

Do the best due diligence possible and then it’s up to the coaches whether a player (including family, agent, handlers, etc) are worth the scholarship and money.
Yeah, but some of those troubled program-leaving guys, AFTER we recruited them, the rules changed, making it easier for them to be encouraged to quit us. These are very fluid and dynamic times. I hope it will be settling, sooner rather than later. 🤷

Seems the meddling parent(s) is the one constant red flag for signing a recruit that will cause problems for coaches and team no matter the sport.
And as discussed, you’re going to see more and more of that problem now that we have family trying to be agents. Of course many were unofficial agents before but I think it’s worse now.
