Chattanooga qb weatherly transfers to the vols

Was projected to be backup QB this coming season for Chattanooga....it appears he quit the Mocs during the spring after he was bumped to 3rd string after Nick Tiano transferred in from Miss St. (and no, he did not quit during the year). Plus we have a new coaching staff since the one that signed him.

Was redshirted this past season, his freshman year, will obviously have to redshirt again moving up to FBS from FCS.

He was a 3 star when we signed him, downgraded to a 2 star after the fact. We heard stories it was due to him signing FCS not FBS.

Good kid, gonna guess he will be a walkon.

OK, now for the obvious question. Since I don't follow the Mocs, I hopefully assume he didn't quit on them mid season like a certain drama queen did for us last year.

But if he did, why are we excited to get him? Since he is changing schools AND positions, I have to ask.

Are you joking? Because I feel you have to be..... Lol. We're excited because he's local. He's a Tennessee kid who wants to upgrade for a better opportunity. He probably knows he isn't D1 QB material.

Do you assume every transfer is a Jalen Hurd situation? Just curious lol.

Always good to have an athlete who can provide WR depth and fill in more competently at QB than an average preferred walk on in case of a rash of injuries. Especially nice when it doesn't cost a scholarship. Very nice pick up!
