Why have we not talked to this man . Wouldn't of made my top 10 originally but at this moment almost no one left was in my top 10 . Still Strong is a great recruiter in Florida and is a solid coach . Also not nearly as much of a risk as some of the other names on here

Albert Haynesworth knows why

Since we are following the 2012 playbook and have been turned down by Gruden and Gundy, I guess it's time to have Charlie Strong turn us down as well.

No

Charlie needs to take a step back to a non Power 5 conference and get his sea legs back. Take a HC position at a mid major and bring them back up then he could be a contender.

Until then we dont need to be his training ground

Isn’t that what he’s doing this year?

He is another Butch Jones. Did well at a mid-major (very well actually) but failed fantastically on the big stage (Texas). Before you cite his success at Louisville, note they were not in the ACC during his tenure.

NO...

Never been remotely impressed.

I want to watch some good offense again!

Bring us LEACH...or maybe Brohm or Norvell...or, dare I say it...Joey Freshwater :)

IMO one year isnt enough. He inherited a team that went 11-2 in 16 so its debatable if it was him or Taggerts players that went 9-2. I'd rather have him do it for about 5 years getting a class of his own players.

I think he's done very well at USF. He just didn't quite have enough to beat Frost and UCF last week although frankly, I thought he outcoached Frost for a good portion of the game. For me to admit that is something because I really like Scott Frost. That said, with what has come down in this debacle of a coaching search, I can't see either Strong or Frost taking a huge risk by coming here. You'd really have to offer a huge sum to even get an interview with either of them, imo.:mf_surrender:

Why on earth do you talk with someone who has turned you down before? What has changed? Knoxville is still Knoxville and the Strong family didn't think they'd be accepted in Knoxville and the last time I saw them they were still black (wife is white). What reason they had to come to that conclusion is beyond me but they did and nothing has changed since so move on from this guy. Tennessee has been more open to opportunities for minorities than practically any school in the SEC. Its in our freakin history if these clowns would read it!

More has changed for UT NOT wanting Strong. One, he failed miserably at Texas, two, he was involved in an extramarital affair there with a huge Texas booster. He's more tainted than Kiffin or Petrino if you ask me.

The same approach should have been taken with Gundy. Ask him, 'what are you looking for? UT isn't moving to Stillwater and you're loyal to this place, you've spent 5 more years here, your children are 5 years older as are your parents and in-laws, so why are you wanting to leave?" Idiot Currie comes running with a truck full of money like a drunk sailor and gets played for the fool just like Hart. He's a complete assclown and needs to be fired immediately.
