Didn't see it posted here yet, maybe I missed the thread. If so please move it.

FSU DC Charles Kelly will be on the staff at Tennessee.

It's being reported several places and I know it to be true knowing some people connected to Charles from when he was at GT.

I was told he will be the 10th coach and likely in a special teams role.

Charles worked at Tech as the secondary coach for several years. You won't find a better man and he's a great recruiter as well. He found several under the radar guys at Tech and developed talent well.

Things didn't go as well as the DC at FSU but he's a excellent position coach.

We’ve been saying it for a while now: following the departure of Jimbo Fisher, Charles Kelly’s days as Florida State’s defensive coordinator were numbered (he was probably gone, regardless). And per a recent tweet from Warchant, the end of the Seminoles’ season will, in fact, mean the end of Kelly’s tenure at FSU.

According to the tweet, Kelly is said to have another job lined up and will be announcing it in the near future. Kelly has drawn ample criticism since taking over as DC in 2014, and the writing was on the wall when Willie Taggart was hired as the new head coach at Florida State, as the latter is assembling his own staff. Of course, Kelly was also FSU’s defensive backs coach.

Kelly certainly went out with a bang, as the FSU defense dominated in the Seminoles’ Independence Bowl victory over Southern Miss, allowing the Golden Eagles just 260 total yards.

Seems like a great pickup for position coach and someone with great recruiting ties into Fl.

Worth every dime for the recruiting alone but he’s a damn good teacher at the positions.

Is there a single position we can point to on the staff, and say we didn't likely get upgraded? I've not felt this good about a complete staff since Kiffin's.

I love this staff so far. I say this I thought warren did a good job from what he started with. Let's be honest our corners are not talented at all maybe worse in sec

Was and am a big fan of Warren. Great presence and good teacher imo. Was disappointed in his recruiting, but it was hard to sell last year’s product if we’re being fair.

Seems like I saw he was offered the DC job at Colorado St. Why would he turn that down to come here?
