To quote Josh Briscoe, "Why has it become more important to make a dollar than to keep the Tennessee family and the Tennessee tradition that we've had for years?"

What does it mean to be a part of the Tennessee family? Do the players just love Fulmer b/c he never calls them out for being knuckleheads?

Vinson was arrested for drug possession. Morley was suspended for missing class again. And the team laid a giant egg on homecoming against a terrible Wyoming team. Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it. I think it is pretty clear that not only do we have a terrible football team, but we aren't doing a great job of building men either.

This is an unbelievable black eye for the players to put on Coach Fulmer, and I am incredibly disappointed by their actions on and off the field.

This season is shot. These players and the entire team for the most part have gotten off track. It is obvious that these coaches are at a loss as to how to motivate, inspire, control and manage this team. The fans are moaning and groaning.

But Fulmer is on his way out. We lost today. It can get worse, and it may. But it is only a game. At this point everyone complaining that one player did this, or we screwed up this play, or this player complained about this is almost like bitching that the firemen trampled your flowerbed while your house was burning down.

This season sucks, but we have a lot to look forward too. Basketball season is coming up. Thanksgiving is near and Christmas is right around the corner. We have all beaten the coaches, players and team in general up, lord knows I have. I say that we focus on the good now. I say that we look ahead to next football season and let this season play out like it will. Why worry about it? Why complain? I wager that every coach will be gone in three weeks. Many of our players may not return, some may transfer and others may not play under a new coach.

Just leave it alone. It is what it is.

Let's cool it with out and out bashing the players.

I am actually more upset with the off the field stuff than the loss. It reflects very poorly on a good man. I know that Phil does his best with these kids and there are too many for him to fully control, but this week of all weeks they should have stayed out of trouble.

but we all have to admit.
today was one of the worst efforts we have ever witnessed overall from a UT team
I don't think anybody can argue with that. Although, I will say that it was mainly one side of the ball causing all the problems. The defense didn't really give up anything.

Josh Briscoe can support his coaches best by holding to the balls thrown right to him; and then make a play (YAC).

I don't know why everyone blamed CPF all year long. Theres not a QB on the team that could piss on themselves if they want to. It's like the team doesn't care if they even show up for the game. It's just a joke to them.

CPF is TENNESSEE football and everyone will see that one day

Yeah, It's encouraging to see a running back carrying 2 defenders on his back 7 yards down the field and he falls at the feet of one of his own offensive lineman who's just standing there.

Who recruited those QBs? Who named Crompton the starter without even a token a QB competition?

You are delusional and in complete denial.....maybe you should consider cheering for a certain team in Tuscaloosa?

Saying CPF is TENNESSEE football, is like saying Barry Switzer is COWBOY football. The man can win with an overwhelming talent advantage, but clearly can't without. And don't tell me what a great recruiter he is. When he was bringing in talent; LSU, USC, and Texas were all far below where they are now, so it was much easier to get good guys to come here.

I've seen a lot of college football over the years. I've watched Kentucky's mess of a football team but I don't recall a group of players that acted like they didn't have pride in their team. I've seen them have coaches who didn't know a football wasn't round, no talent, not enough talent, and bad luck. I've seen Bama teams that were up and down, but they never seemed to quit. Seems like their 90 team was similar to ours. Offense wasn't worth shucks. I think they played 7 quarters of football at one point in the season without scoring and offensive point. However, they went 10-1 regular season because the defense averaged allowing about 6 points per game.

I've seen Tennessee teams that were bad But I've never seen one quit until now. Nothing seems to fire these guys up. They've managed to get their coach fired, accomplish a loosing season, and still, they aren't fired up to change it. I'm not sure what Fulmer can do about it. You'd think the humiliation of hearing what's being said about the team would be motivation enough. Evidently, it's not. We've got players kicked off for dope, players going on strike to protest. Surely to goodness our quarterbacks aren't as bad as they play. I could understand Todd Helton running around trying not to get hit, but these guys don't have a professional athletics future, not even close. Berry is probably the only guy on the team that could play in the NFL.

I wonder if somewhere along the way we lost the ability to recruit good players and are having to setttle for what we can get. That's what got Fran Curci in trouble at Kentucky. He could recruit talent, the problem was they were the left over thugs nobody else would have. They could play if he could get them out of jail in time for the game. Ours seem to have similar problems. In 05 when we has so many players in trouble, in jail, out of jail, it was a mess. We've had some of the same this year, not as much, but some. Worse than that, there's no pride in them.

Have we lost our recruiting ability? Is just the times we live in, kids that don't know how to work for what they get?

Couldn't have said it better myself. People just try to grasp at straws with anything they can come up with (usually making zero logical sense) for self-preservation and to discourage change. It just goes to show you what kind of kids we have on the team.

Right on again my friend! We seem to agree on alot of things. Anyone with half a brain can see that it was much easier for Fulmer when the states he recruits from had weak state school teams. He just can't cut it when the big dogs come to play...
