Hadn't really thought about it, but I do like the idea.:)

Does anyone know if Smith is gonna be moved to LB for sure or is it just a rumor??:unsure:

Haven't seen anything that makes it certain, but it looks like there is a good chance.

I assumed he was in CDD's dog house. Was he in trouble last year? I hope he does well! GBO!!!

on steroids, dude is going to be sweet.

def means alden hill is headed towards FB

1) AJ is huge too. Ever see his neck??
2) No, it doesn't definitely mean AH is headed to fb. If anything, it just means we r too thin at ILB, and the coaches understand that Fugate's abilities need to be utilized with him now being an upperclassman. CF is a real athlete, and he definitely has the physical tools for the position.

Fugate needs to be on the field.. He's an older guy who has passion for the game.. He's scrappy and a lot more athletic than a lot of ppl think.. He put up ridiculous numbers at running back in high school.. I think he will do great at lb.

This... I remember his film from hi-school, big, fast and versatile.. I thought at the time that they really wanted him as a LB.. He sure does have that 'Bama' size @ LB they are looking for..

This.

It worked with Austin, it may work even better with Channing. It means on offense they will be running a one back set with the TE as the H-back most of the time. That way they have more options for the passing game, a strong RB in the game to pick up a blitzer, and a TE that can serve as a FB for run blocking. You now know how the TE's are going to be used and why Clear is staying a TE.

This is really good stuff.

It doesn't necessarily mean any of this. It means LB is a greater need than FB.

Look for Hill to be the Tennessee FB of the future. His nickname will be "Mini Bus!":lolabove:

Of course you are probably right. That's why they don't have but one senior scholarship FB left on O and just moved one to D with none recruited - yet have 4 scholarship TE's with one of them being as big as most OT's.

Of course they do need another back-up ILB for the 3/4. But they don't make this move if they plan to use the FB very much.

Austin Johnson 2.0 hopefully.

Except Austin was a incredibly productive LB in high school. Channing will not be such a natural. So if he can get anywhere near where Austin was that would be pretty big for us.

Liking the sound of this a lot. We could be really tough to run against next year. I guarantee that Sunseri started checking the rosters and looking at tape and said WTF, I want Fugate on my side of the ball.:dance2:

How deep do you think they need to be at FB? There's no sense in even being 2 deep if one guy gets virtually all the playing time so you move a guy to spot where he's needed. If an injury occurs deal with it then.

FB is the position this staff and really any staff (who doesn't run the option) is least worried about. If need be they can just use a TE as a FB/H-back.

he was on the kick off team towards the end of the year, I thought he was one of the first ones down the field and blew up the returner a couple of times
