Changing spring practice and the weight lifting

Not to doubt you or your nephew, but how to you put on muscle in 45-60 days that you can see with out some kind of "help"? 60 days is not much time to make a visual change in a persons body, at least for me to see.

Marine Corps changes bodies noticeably in about 90 days...(My wife did not even recognize me when I graduated Boot Camp)...and they use nothing but the persons body weight to do it. At least that was all they used in my day.

I can see a good S&C Coach making major headway and being able to physically see that difference in 60 days or less.

Have u ever trained or played sports? 60 days is well enough time.. I hope u not implying my nephew taking some type of substance. I don't know what u mean by "HELP"

Take a look at your nephew's weight in the spring. He'll drop 15 if they're working 'em right.

You left out 1 thing brother.

Back in my day the only weights we had in the Marine Corps was our packs and equipment and our M-14 rifle.

If you think trying to hold a M-14 straight out in front of you with arms fully extended doesn't get to you them just try it.

My old, tired arms still hurt just at the thoughts of doing that so much in boot camp.

Parris Island, home of the most sandfleas on the Earth and they're always hungry.

Semper Fi!

VFL...GBO!!!

I can vouch for this, except with an M16 instead of an M14. Sand fleas the size and temperament of a Doberman with a tooth infection as well.

Semper Fidelis, my brother. And of course, GBO.

We might all be under estimating the players knowledge and understanding of the game. They are football players dedicated to learning their craft and being the best at what they do. Some will struggle and even fail. That will happen with new and existing players. I don’t believe for one second this staff will over complicate their playbook to the point of failure. CJP doesn’t seem like the type of coach that will set anyone up for failure. At least not on purpose, via “my way or bust”. The D-line will be the key to all of this. When he gets the guys or production from guys on the D-line, we will see the results. My personal feelings are that we have the backers, though not a lot, and D-backs to be good, but our D-line will be the key to success.

I agree. Pruitt knows he can't just jump to a 3-4 and expect to be a better defense. We'll see a gradual change and probably by year 3, be converted. He will have to recruit the personnel. I think we have some DEs that could possibly be pass rush OLBs but that will take a lot of commitment from them.

OD finally starts a thread that is actually informative. Had to happen sooner or later.

I am excited too. I think teaching (aka coaching) will be emphasized win this staff. Response to coaching will be emphasized on our 2 deep.

This dead period of no recruiting to speak of and no ball to talk about I'm going to lose my mind lol.

If you give enough monkeys enough time, pencils, and paper they will eventually scribble out the entire constitution of the US word for word.

Just getting rid of that lousy spring game format Lyle set-up whether by design or because seemingly 35-40% of the team was hurt would be an improvement.
