2007 - Arkansas State instead of NIU.

2008 - UAB instead of NCState at home. NIU instead of San Jose St for homecoming.

Nothing huge, but hadn't seen it posted yet.

I was looking forward to the NC State and San Jose State games for some reason that kind of sucks.

I would rather play NIU instead of Arkansas State at least they have somewhat of a legitimate program.

Why did they change?

We probably remembered what happened to bammer when NIU came to town.

Yeah, I like seeing TN play BCS schools. I believe the first 4 games that year was NC State, Auburn, Florida and UCLA, not in that order. That's a pretty good, albeit brutal, opening. Oh well, it'll still be pretty tough.

NIU isn't good. They couldn't beat Western Michigan with Garret Wolfe, so what would beating them without Wolfe do for us?

Get your ticket to that wheel in space
While there's time
The fix is in
You'll be a witness to that game of chance in the sky
You know we've got to win
Here at home we'll play in the city
Powered by the sun
Perfect weather for a streamlined world
There'll be spandex jackets one for everyone

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

On that train all graphite and glitter
Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
(More leisure for artists everywhere)
A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision
We'll be clean when their work is done
We'll be eternally free yes and eternally young

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

Not really... Neither would really do enough to be considered significant.

I promise you if you ask 100 college football fans who is a better win, 100 would say NIU, because of Garrett Wolfe they are at least known...very few if any could name 1 Arkansas State player...

please, no more games with UAB.

It brings back memories of that miserable home opener in 05...and you know how well the rest of the season went...:shakehead:

... besides.... any MAC opponent will give better BCS numbers than any Sun Belt opponent.

i agree with that, just from a BCS standpoint...NIU at least has beaten some teams in the past 5 years that you've heard of...hell, they beat Bama a few years ago didn't they? and they played OSU this year close for a while.

NIU won't help the SOS, Ark St. will hurt it...that's a better way to look at this.

and this is all assuming that SOS will matter in the end!!!!
