Does anyone think we will see some others get a lot of playing time at OL this week? I didn't realize how bad it was until I went back and watched all of the game. Our RG doesn't lay a hand on anyone several plays.

Jack Jones should play more. Wiseman can't pass block and is not very athletic. I think Jones can fill in a OG this year in place of Wiseman, and next year after he develops a little more they should flip Kendrick and Jones with Kendrick playing guard and Jones playing tackle.

I would think so too, but when Robertson went out they put Crowder in instead.

Butch said Jones would exclusively work at RG for the time being. He just needs more time to develop learn everything before he is able to fill in at other positions.

watching OL plays he doesn't run block well either. Doesn't touch anyone several times.

No flip kendrick to backup, put Hall at RT, right side will be set.

Young man who has only been on campus a short time. He will be a player for us; just probably not this year. Jack Jones and Chance Hall are the Freshmen who can help us this year.

Watch the game again and pay attention to the LOS instead of following the ball. Last year the Tackles were the weakest link but that has now switched over to the interior of the line. Man oh man, we all fretted that this season wouldn't live up to the hype if the OL didn't become at least SEC average. Their performance in the OK game would indicate they aren't there yet - IMO, TIFWIW, NOI, NAACP

Yeah, I think Richmond's not going to see the field at all this year due to not getting on campus early. When you see him during the game, it looks like he doesn't expect to even get close to getting in the game.

We need a coach who can teach our OL how to line up and just hit somebody. There is a reason why we don't go for it on 4th and short ( same reason why we don't convert on 3rd and short)

Our young players have not learned the zone blocking schemes Mahoney teaches (somewhere I read it takes 3 years to learn; so they graduate by the time they figure it out). We need a simpler system so our freshmen and Other young players can succeed

How bad or how uninspired can a player be like Blair that freshmen are passing you up on the roster? Not some freshmen but all of the freshmen. Even freshmen who are shorter than you are and some even weigh less than you.

Just a thought!!!!!!

Is this forum suggesting we put 2 True freshman on the same side of the OL?

I can see this... simply so Jones will have 2 more yutes to blame a loss on.

Spit on... Kendrick is guard.

Most of our roster are guards.

That is what hurts more than anything. Dallas Thomas was a failure at OT but was an AA at OG.

We have Hall and Richmond as natural OTs on roster and that's just about it. Blair was in that category but he's apparently bustier than Dolly Parton.

Dolly Would take up a lot of space

I did notice our OL got beat a few times but nothing like it was last year. The reason why we had several Sooners getting into the back field was because Oklahoma was blitzing LB's and Safeties just about every play. And when that happens 5OL with one RB are not enough to block out 6-7 blitzers. Not all the time!

I'll throw in my 2 cents on this, our only true tackles are true freshmen. There were several times in the game we ran a slide protection and left Wolfe on his own to block their 2 pass rushers. Kerbyson/Kendrick have poor vision, several times they would engage with a DL who was already being blocked while forgetting about Striker/Bond and so on. I applaud Kerbyson for playing out of position, but it is painful to watch him get beat on speed rush by most DEs he faces. Some of this is scheme and some of it is talent and the fact that we have a team of guards. We need a big upgrade on the OL and I think it is coming when these frosh mature. The other upgrade needs to come from WR.

Look it was not all on the line Dobbs had plenty of time and he just missed our receivers, if Ellis had caught that one pass this board would be talking about how well we played, Seem like Dobbs was of the whole night in his 7 starts he lit 5 weak teams up and has had 2 bad games against good defenses MIZZ AND OKLAHOMA, another thing we didnt throw the ball down field enough and the 4th quarter was some bad play calling, it was a total team effort on that side of the ball, and if you are going to blame start at the top and work your way down, like in the 4th quarter 2 screen thrown at the ground in 3 plays i think we threw 5 or 6 screens and none worked, look like to me after 2 or 3 the coaching staff would try something different, Striker had that screen pass down he dropped back in coverage every time we threw it, i just dont understand running that play 2 out of 3 plays in the 4th quarter after the play had failed 4 or 5 times in a row one answer play calling.

Yeah like the ones they use now are so much better even though they have been on campus all year
