And if you look at the coverage maps, the signals are identical. What kind of weather is 1180 getting that is different from what 1040 is getting?

That’s “predicted”, Aka we aren’t doing any real math here

Where are each of their towers? What is the vswr of the signal based on quality of transmission? What is the resonance off each individual tower?

No need to get offensive. Like I said I have plenty of sources for music but as for UT related I prefer sticking with locals that has knowledge of Tennessee sports instead of national guys. Just curious...who do you listen to that is so knowledgeable about Tennessee sports on satellite radio?

Not much, i listen to local stuff over the app for tennessee stuff. The animal, swaim, 104.5 in nashville. I dont live in knoxville so i cant listen local.

Its funny on here people always bad mouthing the local radio, but them say they cant listen to any national sources.

Ill listen to anyone cause they dont tell me what to think. I still have the ability to form my own opinions.

The only one i really dont like is Basillo and it has nothing to do with his content. His stupid slogans and constantly repeating nicknames for people drives me crazy. He reminds me of Shawn Hannity. I can watch about anyone on the news and talk radio, except that guy.

I like sirius cause i travel alot. So no trying to find a station or anything. If titans or vols games are not on where i am i can listen on sirius. I dont listen to alot of music, but sirius has lots of talk channels. If im traveling with kids it has disney radio etc. Plus the travel link with ford sync is money and is only 5 dollars a month.

I normally listen to Swain, Basilio, and sometimes Fox Knoxville streaming myself. I use to listen to Ainge before he made an ass out of himself on sec network. I live in Tri Cities and been listening to Knoxville locals for about last 6 years on iPhone. Tri Cities sports radio pretty much sucks. Thank God for mobile streaming.

Yep, when aigne first started on the animal, i made the statment in here that his show would probably suck unless he had a really good show host. Ainge is good at providing x and o type insight. But in between football seasons its God awful. And pretty soon his antics and maturity level get the best of him.

I'm sure he's a good guy and all in person. However he never has a well-thought out point to make and his voice, ugh his squeaky nasally voice combined with his hillbilly, 5th grade educated dialect just irritates me to no end.

I will jump on the sirius/XM train too. Since McElroy and Zarzour broadcast out of Nashville you get a surprisingly large amount of Tennessee news. Butch was on weekly which I hope continues with Pruitt. I was worried when the channel was taken over by ESPN and became ESPN U but I have not really noticed any major changes yet.

One thing about Ainge that really bugs me is his grammar and seeming lack of general intelligence ... he actually uses words like "agreeance" (which isn't actually a word!)... I'm also ticked off at Helen Mirren lookalike Jimmy Hyams reporting on the TK Jr so-called suicide attempt... no other sports reporting entity anywhere covered it or made mention of it... it was unnecessary and creates a public document that will follow that young man from now on... Hyams is dispicable for doing that...

Yep! Funny how people make up theor own stories in their head then swear by them.

Not sure what Ainge did on SEC Nation but I know on his show he acknowledges Butch’s faults. He just wasn’t angry about it like some loud fans are. He tried to discuss it with a level head. You could tell he liked Butch personally and from his interactions with the players he felt they liked him too. Because of that he held out hope things would change. Just because he didn’t pile on with hate or run with every rumor on the internet doesn’t mean he is “state media”.

While that may be true, the work he put in over this last coaching search has to be noted. The man was doing a show 25 hours a day for about three weeks straight.
He earned a lot of respect during that whole thing.

Yes... glad for technology. I listened to him time to time and got burned out. At times Bill would get so mad if someone was not on his side he would stutter over you to interrupt you so you couldn’t finish what you were saying. I occasionally listen in morning before Swain comes on if Kenny Hawkins is on but don’t care much for bud or bobby.
