Chances Zach Azzani is our next OC ?

JBC is making big bucks as an OC in the NFL. I don’t think he would even come ohs a Head Coach now. Would you expose yourself to the idiots who post on this Board??

He's a coach at the highest level. He shouldn't pay us any attention. It's a forum. It's for venting.

CZA recruits well but isn't wowing me with his coaching. He doesn't have the resume to be an OC at program like UT. Most OCs were good QB coaches before becoming OC. I like Butch but he will loose me if CZA is promoted to OC. We need someone with a resume that is also a top notch QB coach.

Debord has been ok but I expect him to retire if Butch/UT can afford a good OC.

We need new Oline coach. Someone with a name so we can fix it fast.

We must do something to get our corners playing better. Cam Sutton arrived as a good player. I have not been impressed with the development of other players but the injury bug makes it hard to evulate.

I agree with posters indicating Dobbs has good days and bad throwing the ball. I think he is better than most fans think. He gets too much pressure and we have too many drops. I wonder about the QB coaching because Dobbs has too many sacks N TFLs. I think he should be seeing the pressures coming and dumping the ball, use the other option, changing the play. As long as we have a grad assistant as QB coach everyone will feel like we need a better QB coach, even if he is doing a great job.

I am not saying the guys we have are bad coaches but the clock is ticking on our program and the perception is we need better coaches. As HC Butch needs to act or risk loosing momentum. You can't do much to fight perception.

ZA sucks and should be punted out the door with Debord. You don't work with WRs for 3 years and still let them drop passes.

Emmanuel Moseley has been killing us this season. Esp with the pass interference calls...

And Baylen Buchanan and Justin Martin and Malik Foreman and .......

agreed, and that sucks, because as bad as they both were at times last year, both really came on toward the end of the year, especially MF...disappointed that they both aren't taking that next step. Martin still looks very raw, and too early to tell on BB...

suffice to say, the secondary hasn't been what we thought it would be. losing Sutton for the season basically didn't help obviously, but it's clear that neither of those two are a guy that can take a side of the field away.

I see this in a lot of threads as a possibility and think that would be a horrible mistake. I know Debord has sucked at times, but he still is so much better than Azzani. If we aren't going to get a big name OC, I would rather keep DeBord.

FWIW, I want Azzani to be fired along with Debord, Mahoney and Martinez. In 4 years, our WRs have regressed if anything. We have missed out on production from so many of high calibre prospects and now instate WRs do not even want to come and play for us. That is a pretty bad performance grade.

Just thinking of Azzani as OC makes me really really sad as I think it can really happen if Debord leaves/gets fired end of the year.

i dont want zach and can't stand this entire staff, but to be fair, Butch hasn't had his QB in the 4 years he's been coach. Dobbs has broken a lot of records at UT, but he has to be the worst passer we've had in my 45 years.

JG is Butch's guy, and his career at UT ultimately succeeds or fails in the next two seasons 2017/18.

in the meantime, Butch better go spend some serious money to get the staff issues corrected because this is the last year he'll be able to do that.

Our WRs have dropped a ton of passes they should have easily caught. Wolf has as well. Ever since ZA has gotten here what have we seen? WRs that consistently fail to get separation, poor route running, dropped passes, failure to fight for the ball. Thats all on the WR coach. Jennings seems to be the only real tough WR we have. Byrd may end up being thay he just hasn't played enough.

Dobbs has never been a good passer but Tennessee WRs have really not been that good either.

It's hard for the WRs to hang on to passes which are consistently thrown behind them. A more accurate passer would certainly help their situation.

I'm with you those are the 4 I would love to see replaced and upgrades made. We will never be better than an average to decent SEC East team with the current PC,WR,OL and DB Coach's.
