I see this in a lot of threads as a possibility and think that would be a horrible mistake. I know Debord has sucked at times, but he still is so much better than Azzani. If we aren't going to get a big name OC, I would rather keep DeBord.

FWIW, I want Azzani to be fired along with Debord, Mahoney and Martinez. In 4 years, our WRs have regressed if anything. We have missed out on production from so many of high calibre prospects and now instate WRs do not even want to come and play for us. That is a pretty bad performance grade.

Just thinking of Azzani as OC makes me really really sad as I think it can really happen if Debord leaves/gets fired end of the year.

BSiA, Lyle says so.

I think he was close to getting fired last year.

I just don't see any way you can justify hiring your buddy, the "passing game coordinator", when our passing attack is streaky at best with elite WRs

Martinez????????????????????????????????? Cam Sutton was a 3 star, Emmanuel Mosley a 2 star, Buchanan a 3 star. Somehow all ready to start as true freshman?

Moseley was abused by an FCS receiver all night.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire IMO.

Most of the offense staff needs to go.

I want to see us spend some money and bring in a top tier OC, however, if anyone on our offensive staff were to be promoted, it should be Gillespie.

Hopefully the loss to Carolina is a wake up call for Jones that he must make some serious changes in his offensive staff. We weren't going to make a major push for anything significant this year anyways so the loss to Carolina may have been a blessing in disguise.

Actually it makes total sense for Butch to keep his 'system' in tact...

Once again, there is no reason to fire ZA. Especially since he is our best recruiter. You can't blame him for lack of production when Butch's offense doesn't have a coach dedicated to QB's. Dobbs is the sole reason for WR production being absent. Can't blame Z for it.

He's been "coordinating" the passing game for the last two years and that's not gone particularly well, to say the absolute least.

That being said, I agree with you.....it's clearly most important for Jones that he has one of "his guys" to run his offense, and Z definitely fills the bill. All a moot point to me though.....Debord will in all likelihood be the OC again next year.

Have you seen how many drops our WRs have .. how often they are not open at all ? I understand Dobbs isn't a pure passer but when WRs are open, he does make fairly good throws.
4 years of Azzani and see how many big names WRs that came here and turned into a dud !!
