If the upcoming tournament were played 10 times, I think the winners look something like the below.

Duke 3
UT. 2
UK. 2
UVA 1
Field 2

What are you putting UT at?

I don’t put Kentucky that high. Maybe similar to UVA. Problem with UVA is they just don’t score enough.
Other than that, I think you’re spot on

Just my opinion, but 4 teams with 8 (current #1, #2, #4, #5) and the field with only 2, seems a bit low (really with just 3 of the 1 seeds mentioned and 1 left in the field it may be even lower) for the field.

I mean 1 seeds have won 7 of the past 10, so just by past trends the field would win 3, and one of the "current" one seeds is in the field........that would prob gain the field another for a 10 game span.

So I would say the field 4 & the others mentioned 6. (I know KY would be a 2 and a 2 has won it once over the past 10, but the odds would be 25% to 75% favor if the field gaining that one).

I think where you put UT is right. Don't sleep on NOVA, they are flying under the radar and having a great season so far.

I like the list, but I don't want to have to play the field. I've played the field for years. Wins are hard to come by.

I can't even imagine the happiness a title would bring. Tbh I never thought in all the years I've been a UT fan (maybe with the exception of the Lofton years) that we would have a legit shot at winning it. An early loss would be the most devastating loss I will have ever endured. I hate to say it, but it's Final 4 or bust for me this year unfortunately. I'm probably one of the most optimistic posters in the basketball forum too, but man this team is special and deserves a Final 4 banner and anything less will be a disappointment to them too. This has to be our year boys!

The problem is, the tournament is only played once. It is why it is so difficult to get to the Final Four and ultimately win the title and the "best" team does not always win.

By my count and what I've watched this year, there are around 8 teams that have a legit shot at winning it all: UTK, Duke, UVa, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Nevada, Carolina, Michigan. Outliers of this group that could legit make a Final Four run are Houston, Nova, Louisville, LSU, Texas Tech. I think the winner comes from the first 8 and the Final Four participants come from the 13 total.

I think Tennessee is about as close to a perfectly balanced team as I’ve ever seen.

You’ve got absolutely dominant leadership in Williams and Schofield, who give you power and speed, and shooting.

Speedy and great passing guard in Bone.

Speedy and great 3 point shooting in Turner.

Athletic swing man in Bowden.

Offensive rebounding machine in Alexander.

And Pons is a defensive lock em down specialist.

This Tennessee team is going to win the NCAA tournament, and I think we’d win the tournament 8 times out of 10.

Duke would win the other 2.

Tennessee is the best team in college basketball.

Please pass whatever you are smoking. Tennessee was exposed last night for the very things I have been saying for the last 3 months. They've run their record of 19 straight versus mediocre and bad teams, or as Pat Forde said on Yahoo, versus NIT teams.

They were exposed to what will happen when the run up against teams with legit NBA players, you know, ones with length and talent. They are too small and not talented enough to keep up. They now are about to play a bunch of teams that are actually capable of beating them. My prediction: they lose at least 2 more games before the SEC tournament.

The only way UTK makes the Final Four, much less wins it all, is if they do not have to play any of the following teams in the tournament - Duke, UK, UVA, Gonzaga, Nevada, or UNC. Even teams like Nova, Louisville, KU, Michigan, Texas Tech, LSU, and Michigan State will give this Vol team fits.

And just stop with the "win 8 out of 10 times." They are good enough to win it 1 time, if they get a good draw and stay healthy. It's hard to do 1 time. This Vol team ain't close to the level of 91 UNLV, 2015 UK, 82-84 Phi Slamma Jamma, or 1985 Georgetown and none of those teams won it once after actually being dominant for a period of time.
