demographic
/ˌdem·əˈɡræf·ɪk, ˌdi·mə-/
relating to human populations and the information collected about them, such as their SIZE, growth, ages, and education:
For example, your are a TV programming executive:
Would you rather have an audience of 10% of the Texas Market?
20% of the Georgia market
40% of the Tennessee market
50% of the Alabama market
I’d rather have the TN market. Go Vols!
If taking 20% of Texas was realistic that would be ideal. I have no idea about what percent of their population even follows college football. However, Texas has many more big brand college programs than Alabama or TN. They’re filling seats at A&M, Houston, TCU, Baylor, TTU.. I think TN and Texas are probably similar in fanbase size. They just have more oil money than the Vols.
I feel like I know less about Georgia than anywhere. Isn’t Atlanta mostly transplants who owe no allegiance to the Bulldogs? Same could be said for Austin or Nashville with their respective fan bases.
