saw the Gator thread for this and thought: Why not have a Bama one! Personally, I think the Tide will be out of sync for the start of the year. Losing both the SEC championship and then a bowl game might've shook them hard mentally. It would have if it was me!

I'm married to an Alabama grad so I watched plenty of Bama last year. I expect them to take a step back this year. They only lost a few players but they were key guys and their offensive line was pretty bad against Utah after Smith was dismissed and another linemen got hurt. That doesn't speak particularly well for their offensive line depth. They should win 8 to 10 games this year with an incredible defense. I think we have a puncher's chance in that game because I don't see Alabama scoring a lot of points on us. Obviously though, we have a lot more question marks then they do. I'd give us a 25% chance.

Chances are slim but the odds are better to win this one than to beat Florida.

Well they have a lot more room to go down than up. How their QB situation plays out will be the key. They recruited some studs on OL, they should be fine there.

I think we do have a chance to beat them. I see our defense frustrating their new QB and forcing Bama to run the ball a lot. At the same time, I see Bama doing the same to us. I think the difference in this game will be who is able to run the ball most effectively. I believe that it will be a close game and I could see Lincoln winning the game for us.

Who knows what are chances are? By the Alabama game half the season almost will be done. If we roll in with 3 losses or something, I'd say chances aren't good. But we roll in with only a loss or so, I'd say much better.

Well they got the best offensive tackle in the 09 class in DJ Fluker so I think they will be fine on the OL front, although not as good as if Smith was still there.

Our chances this year will be better than last year. Bama wont be as strong as last year and i think that Kiffin improve this team dramatically.

Good lord that game in '05 was horrible... Foster cost us that game.

I like our chances considering their schedule before we play them

I agree Foster was horrible, but that was actually Corey Anderson.

Hopefully that schedule will wear them out. I see the game being really close too. I still feel an ulcer coming on thinking about lincoln kicking.

I will disagree. Roman Harper (I think) made a fantastic hit on Cory Anderson. Now, if you remember how things went...

Gerald Riggs got us to the 5 or so. Then, we have two false starts. Now we have to get creative. So finally Clausen completes a pass to Cory who looks to be good to take the first down. Doesn't happen. No big deal, the score is still tied. And Bama has the ball now. But their offense isn't any good, so they struggle...

Now, it's fourth down, Bama must get a first down. Biggest play of the game. The only offensive playmaker on the field for Bama is DJ Hall. He's gotten 90% of their yards. Who does Chavis cover him with? Antonio Gaines. This is the guy that couldn't hold onto a starting position as a fifth year senior. In 2005, I think he was a freshman. Now, he's covering the opposition's best offensive player on the most important play of the game. Naturally, he gives up a 50 yard pass to DJ Hall, leading to Bama's winning field goal. There was more to the game than the one fumble. It took a series of blunders to lose that one.

Riggs, Anderson and Foster all had bad days. But you're right, Anderson's fumble cost us the game.

14 carries for 53 yards was pretty good for Foster against that defense. Riggs had 18 for 68. 3.8 ypc isn't too shabby against one of the best rush defenses in the nation.

Didn't Riggs also fumble inside the red zone?

You're right. Without that pass completion, we go to OT at worst.

I think 1st year teams like bammer will hurt us more.
big up front trying to stuff it down throat when we are going smaller and quicker and we do not have tons of depth.
i hope we beat them but i look for them to try and pound on us with weak qb for them.
