Chances Dwight Howard Stays On Orlando?

Come on, if a trade goes down, the team trading for him will know they can re-sign him.

And what title contender has a bunch of young guys to offer for Dwight Howard?

And if they trade them all, are they still a title contender?

Deron Williams didn't want to go to the Nets and odds are Dwight Howard won't want to go to a team that just traded away half their roster to acquire him.

It's not like a bunch of title contenders are overflowing with young guys to begin with and Dwight wants to play for a title contender. Oklahoma City and Memphis maybe. Doubt he wants go to either of those plays though.

And taking back Turkoglu or Arenas's contract?

I think Bynum and Gasol might be about the best offer the Magic could get if they can rid themselves of Turk or Arenas in the process.

It didn't sound like the Lakers GM was open to trading Bynum though.

Did he know Howard was on the table when he made that statement? This is a no-brainer. And a pretty damn good deal for Orlando if the alternative is lose Howard to free agency.

Since he is from Atlanta is there any chance he wants to go there in FA? Do they have cap room?

I think the GM said it in response to trading Bynum and Gasol for Howard but I'm not certain. He could easily change his tune though.

And I have no idea where Howard wants to play aside from wanting to play with a title contender.

If I were LA I would trade Gasol and Bynum for Howard in a heartbeat. Howard is maybe the most valuable big man ever because he currently has no rival (and looks like he will go unrivaled for 4-5 years). The league is so weak with big men he offers a huge advantage. Howard, Odom, and Bryant. Damn.

Arenas majorly sucks. He hasn't been good for 4 years. Hedo's OK, but I'd much rather have Deng. That team probably wins less than Chicago did this year.

I agree, I'd rather have Deng over Hedo. And if Arenas isn't cutting it, you've got Brewer, Watson, and Korver to back him up.

I would say currently they are all better options than Arenas, as well as Bogans. Watson is awesome if he distributes and was just a 3-point specialist. He tries to take it to the hole, and do pullup Js and he's just not very good at that. Korver could be pretty damn dangerous with Howard, and Korver really isn't a bad defender.

He will stay this year and I dont really see who would be able to offer up compensation in trade with the Magic other than LA or CHI

LA has the pieces and probably needs a replacement for Bynum....

I would love it, but who can Orlando honestly get? Bynum has 40 year old knees, Gasol is moving past his prime and Artest has an impossible contract to take on. Lamar Odom is the best shot, but he's not a go to guy that will even out a trade with Howard. I think it will come down to a team having to pick up Gilbert's contract, too. Letting Howard walk will be stupid, but trading him for nothing will be also be dumb.
