Does Vanderbilt continue to show major commitment to their football program and offer Chad Morris the job?
I just don't understand why he would take it, unless the money is just too good to turn down. He's going to get a HC offer soon, probably this year. Why start your HC career out in a place where you can't win your conference, where you'll always have a talent disadvantage vs most of your competition and where you're following the best coach they've ever had? Just seems like suicide.

On the other hand, why not go somewhere where 6-7 wins per year in a major conference will earn you a contract extension and a raise?
The expectations at Vandie used to be hopeful to get to a bowl game.
Now the expectation is not only a bowl game, but a 9 win season or better. Chad Morris could win there. Not saying he would win the SEC regularly, but he could compete in the east.
Something our UT Vols can't even do..... YET

It seldom works out to be the guy that follows "The Guy".True. But, as history has shown, it's really very hard to average 6-7 wins a season at Vanderbilt. Odds are, you'd be killing yourself just to manage that. And even if you do it, you'll never be held in as high esteem as the guy you repalced.
