Second, our administration has shown no understanding at all of what drives the revenue for this university.

Third, the idea that the administration is smarter than the fanbase has been refuted several times this year.

Fourth, look at the Cleveland Browns and the Pilot prosecution.

Chad Morris maybe a good choice. Flumer knows what we need it may not be what we want.Just let the process play out. I believe we should just bring Flumer back and start a process to train a new coach. Provide a great staff of coaches that can recruit around him.Coaches that bleed orange/VFL we need to get back to Tennessee football the Tennessee way.This happens with Tennessee people. We have a source in Flumer he has done it. We can put this baby to bed with Flumer starting the process of getting Tennessee football back on the map.I for one would be excited because I know it would work.I'm not saying Flumer long term I'm saying let him start the process for recovery if we can't find a winning coach.

I'm not advocating for morris but check his year by year record he has improved each year since he arrived at SMU, & they are goin bowling this year while we get to watch.

You really need to dig further than his overall record. He took over a dumpster fire at SMU. They were 1-11 the year before he started.

He's finished 2-10, 5-7, and 7-5. None of that is stellar but it shows improvement every year.

If you've heard of Dabo Sweeney, this is, the guy that saved his job. Dabo was about ready to be run out of Clemson when he hired Morris as OC. Morris recruited and developed Watson. He installed his offensive system at Clemson and it's the one they still use.

He interviewed for a number of jobs the year he left Clemson and was runner up for several posts (i.e. Vandy). Ended up at SMU but probably should have waited another year to leave Clemson because he would have then had some better offers. The Clemson people were in a panic when he left. They promoted assistants that were under him as Co-OCs to have them run his system.

Same thing probably applies now. If he waits another couple of years and gets things rolling at SMU, he'll likely have some better offers come in. He's a gamble but if he hired a good DC and if our fans didn't panic, he'd probably be successful here.

You would have to worry about him being successful and leaving but if that happened, he'd be leaving a successful program and it would be easier to hire a replacement coach.

Let's face it, TN is no longer a dumpster fire. We're a nuclear waste site.

Morris would be a good hire and recruits like Lawrence would give UT a second look.

More ignorance. Took over the worst and most damaged program in the country and has them going to a bowl in year three. They have been dormant since the death penalty, he has given them life.

Is he the right hire? No one knows but he is heads and shoulders above the last 3 UT coaches. It was him that saved Dabo’s Job.

Sounds just like Schiano at Rutgers.

I agree that Morris has done a very good job making SMU competitive, but what bothers me about him is that after three years the defense is still awful. 6.6 yards per play, which is 123rd in the country. 112th in scoring defense.

By comparison, Brohm has Purdue sitting at 19th in scoring defense after being 117th last year. 35th in yards per play after 102nd last year.

I have slept on this, and here is where I am. At some point you have to look at things for what they are. Tennessee isn’t going to get a splash hire. I wanted Gruden as much as anyone else. Sadly, I believe we were played again. If they (the insiders) had any sort of proof, they would have shared it by now.

If we are going to take a risk, it might as well be with Chad Morris from SMU. After doing a little research, I actually like him.

He was a hot shot high school coach in Texas. Think of George Quarles on a much larger stage.

He was the OC at Clemson during the resurrection of the program under Dabo. They still use it today, and it seems to work out for them... minus the Clemson’ing once a year.

He took a gamble and became the head coach at SMU. You know the school that got the death penalty. Their record has gotten better each year. They are 7-5 this year. Dude is making chicken salad out of chicken crap.

He has recruiting ties in key states: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and Louisiana. Guess when we were the best? When we recruited from those states.

If we are going to take a chance, he seems quite logical if you look at the big picture not just his record at SMU. He is currently reported as Texas A&M’s number 2, and if Jimbo leaves FSU, he is a strong possibility there. I would hate for us to miss out on someone who has potential. I couldn’t promise his success, but I couldn’t promise any coach’s success either.
