Okay now that the dust has settled a little, what else needs to happen for our Vols to make their way back into the CFP (besides obviously win out) which I think is still on the table and leaps us back ahead of Vandy.

Big 10 to beat each other up?
One of ole Miss , uga, bama to Get beat again?
Another Notre Dame loss?

Or is simply winning out enough for the committee considering our 2 losses are to top 5 opponents, one on the road? A lot of parity this year, a lot of upsets still to come.

Tennessee has a major strength of schedule problem. They've only beaten 1 team with a record over .500, and 4-3 Mississippi St is currently winless in conference. And unfortunately for the Vols, it looks like they're only going to get 2 more chances to improve on that number.

If UT wins out, they'll probably need some help to get into the CFP. That said, it's been a crazy year so far, and that help could definitely come

This team isn't going to the playoffs. Out of the teams in the league with a chance Tennessee is the only team that constantly hurts itself. Drop passes, presnap penalties, missed tackles, busted coverage, terrible coaching decisions and play calling.

All Tennessee can do is win out. That's it. And if Tennessee wins out they'll have a good shot to get in. There's going to be a lot more turbulence up there, and losing to ALA/UGA isn't going to be some weighty stone around UT's neck when it comes time to be compared with other 10-2 teams.

Finish with five straight wins, beat OU, Vandy, and Florida on the way, and Tennessee will have its day.

Not an easy task, but if Tennessee focuses and works on improving itself, it has a good chance - A REALLY GOOD CHANCE - to fight its way back in the mix. Not that the angry folks want to hear any of that right now.

I only want Tennessee invited to the playoffs if they actually stand a chance of winning a game and right now I just don't feel like that's possible. I won't be able to tolerate another blowout loss at someone else's stadium on national TV. I'd rather take my lumps chalk the season up as a failure and focus on not losing any games next year.

I think IF, Tenn wins out, there cannot be more than 3 other SEC teams with 2 or less loses. Tenn got the benefit last year getting in with others having equal resume. Don’t think the committee gives them the same leeway this year.
Based on their struggles to put away inferior teams (Ark & Miss St). I don’t see them beating all 4 remaining conf games.
