No. I'm generally not an "SEC fan", but the way they set this idiotic playoff up to insure two Big 10 teams in the final four and gift wrapping ND into this game, as painful as it might be I'll be rooting for UGa to win the whole stupid thing. I don't count Texas as an SEC team, and it would be embarrassing for what is really a Big 12 school to win it.
Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley has issued a statement re: the tragic NYE event in New Orleans:
“The Sugar Bowl Committee is devastated by the terrible events from early this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We are in ongoing discussions with authorities on the local, state, and federal levels and will communicate further details as they become available.”
Neither offense is going to be explosive. Doubt anyone gets blown out unless there are some defensive scores. Both teams will be looking to ground and pound, run clock, and stay healthy going into the next round.
I'm assuming they need to make sure this was just an isolated incident and that the game can be played safely - thus the need to postpone it until tomorrow.
I understand the decision, but hate it for the fans who traveled. Now they have to spend more money to adjust or go home as planned without even seeing the game.
