CFN.com predicts Tennessee to be 8-4 this season

I Love You man!...You own me with that avi and your convincing and contrite message!! I can't breathe!!...Wait...You are a Gator!! Go somewhere and eat a tire. This is THE VOLNATION!!

Lighten up Frances!

And do not insult my avatar. There are some things that transcend our rivalry.

LG is very convincing for sure. I don't care if he's Abe Lincoln. He's a Gator and doesn't belong in OUR conversation.

I'm waiting for ONE. Teblow? Great QB that has handed us our butt for 3 yrs. Should I high five you on that?

What is transcending is your transparency of what you represent...THE ENEMY!

So using your theory……if by some chance the VOLS are only favored in 6 games & the VOLS will all 6 of those games & don’t lose to any underdogs…..then you will be happy with a 6 – 6 record?

No. UT will be favored in 8 games. If they are only favored in 6 games, then bad things have happened and the season is a failure regardless of this talk about improvement, fewer mistakes, etc..

So, IMHO, at the end of the 2009-2010 season, people will not be talking about the W-L record as much as whether they think the optimism at the changes was warranted and whether it continues.

Incorrect. Finding positives in optimism despite your record is for losers.

You're setting yourself up for disappointment. That prediction is pretty on target in my opinion. They could exceed expectations or it could go the other way. You may not want to here this but year three will be the year kiffin will be fair game for criticism. This year he gets a pass in my book. Next year they'll be breaking in a lot of new linemen on the offensive line and more than likely a freshman qb. 2011 will be the year to see if kiffin's plan is going to work or not. He didn't fall into a ideal situation, but i get the feeling he'll make the best of it.

And I'm fine with people that enter the season with lowered expectations from what we've come to expect as a fan base over the last hundred years. I will not lower my expectation just to avoid disappointment.

Looking at our schedule we will be favored in 8 games. Looking at our roster we have a lot of talent that has seen playing time. I'd be surprised if we start someone that has never seen the field - it's not like we're expecting incoming freshmen to play significant minutes. Based on that, my expectation is 8 wins. Anything more is great, anything less means we lost to a team we were expected to beat.

I don't know if you'd really call it lowered expectations. More of a matter of understanding where we're at right now. We're not the top dog in this conference and may not be for awhile. 8 wins is a very realistic view on next year. I get a feeling depth will become a problem the further into the season we get. We simply need more body's and how healthy they stay is going to be a big deal this year.

Health is an ongoing issue for every team. Right now, my expectation based on the roster and schedule is a minimum of 8 wins. If we lose key players, that will impact my expectation at that point.

LG is not a troll. He's just a Gator fan who has been posting here forever.

He can be quite sensible.

i think it's clear IE has no understanding of this concept.

8-4 is what I'm predicting.

Sept. 5 Western Kentucky W
Sept. 12 UCLA W
Sept. 19 at Florida L
Sept. 26 Ohio W
Oct. 3 Auburn W
Oct. 10 Georgia L
Oct. 17 OPEN DATE
Oct. 24 at Alabama L
Oct. 31 South Carolina W
Nov. 7 Memphis W
Nov. 14 at Ole Miss L
Nov. 21 Vanderbilt W
Nov. 28 at Kentucky W

8-4 is about right given the schedule. Don't rule out a loss vs UCLA. They are going to be familiar with what UT is trying to do on offense I'm afraid.

I say we beat Ole Miss. They had some good wins last year. But the lost to an underachieving Wake Forest team. Lost to Vandy in Oxford. Lost to South Carolina in Oxford. Ended the season well yes. But let's not write them in for another great season until they play with some consistency.
