This article is a legitimate critique of the state of Tennessee football. The problems are far to large to ignore.

CJH "have to make some tough decisions after this season if he wants to prevent what he's built from tumbling down. "

"The 2025 Vols are a fundamentally bad football team"

"Tennessee struggles with some of the most basic football concepts"

We left our brains on the bus. Just played a really dumb game. Coach Heup included (pick six play call was the worst I can remember from him)

That’s all on the coaches.

Under the category of dumb, I'll add that the penalties are getting old. Killed our first drive, wiped out a long pass play, led to our safety and 2 PIs gave bama 30 yards on a single drive. Its been an underlying theme with Heupel and needs to be fixed.

Many Vol fans say the same thing, including the comments about Banks. This is an objective opinion from an outsider who could not care less about TN, one way or the other. He is spot on - Heup must make changes in the offseason (DBs, WR, and D coordinator). Hopefully Banks lands a head coaching job and takes Martinez w him.

If Heup makes the changes, he better go get someone outside of the program with new ideas.

Watching so many people here turn on Josh Heupel over the last 12 hours has been fascinating. 5-2 is apparently not good enough anymore, and who cares how they finish. Remarkable to watch happen.

You can take the burning mattress away from the mob, but you can't take the mob away from the burning ... mattress ... okay that doesn't quite make sense but you get what I mean.

EXACTLY! I was pleased to find an objective professional opinion that reverberated the thoughts of VolNation.

We got just enough to give you a glimmer of hope and a lot of the same ole same ole to take it all away. We could win out or lose 4 out of the last 5. That’s where we are.
We’ve only got 2 games left which should be “gimmes” (KY and NMS). The other 3 will be tough.
