CBS Sports: Projected top 25; Vols #16

I'll be suprisred to see Tennessee jump that many spots.
Very fortunate to leave Pittsburgh with the win.

Tennessee beat the #17 team on the road. That’s enough right there to put them in the top 20, but also several ranked teams lost this week, some to bad opponents - Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Florida, Wisconsin, Houston, and Baylor all lost. Those teams will likely drop below UT (maybe not Baylor).

I could see 20 or 19. But I've been wrong before.👍

Ok. I’ll list the teams that I think should be ahead of Tennessee, based on the polls after week one and the results of weeks 2.

1. UGA
2. OSU
3. Bama
4. Mich
5. Clemson
6. Oklahoma
7. USC
8. Okie St
9. Utah
10. MSU
11. Miami
12. Arkansas
13. Kentucky
14. BYU
15. Ole Miss
16. Tennessee

The polls will probably look something like this if UT is ranked #16. Teams that could possibly still be ranked ahead of UT are Wake Forest, Baylor, and NCState. Do you think all 3 of those teams deserve to be ahead of Tennessee? NC St barely beat an unranked opponent, Baylor lost, and Wake Forest beat Vandy.

Thanks, I'm about to sit down for a nice home cooked breakfast.

Probably the only thing more useless than a week 2 media poll is a CBS analyst's rushed projection of what it will look like.

He still has Florida ranked 12th, after losing by double digits at home.

Just keep winning, the rankings will take care of themselves. Personally, I want Florida to be ranked when we play them. I want us to have those ranked matchups that get us on Prime time TV and get the attention on what we're doing here.

Do you know when that game time will be announced?

Yes, when was the last time Tennessee won an ugly game like this? We have lost too many to count in the past 15 years…that alone, is enough to see that we’re heading in the right direction. Was it perfect? Absolutely not, but we leave with a W. Moving on to Akron/Florida/LSU.

Wake Forest beating Vandy is not a great achievement.

This is a BS poll. Fla loses at home and doesn't drop a single spot?
Agreed, we should, based on rankings be above Florida going into that game in 2 weeks. I’m guessing UT will be 14 and UF will be 16 in week 4. Beat them, then bye, then beat LSU, and we may very well be looking at a top 10 Bama week with all the shows present.

Are they gonna keep 0-2 ND above us? What about TA&M losing to a g5 school at home? We have one of the few quality wins this season. Not saying we are top 10, but 15th seems fair to me considering what I have seen from the rest.
