What a joke.

Joey leads the SEC in TD passes. Not the guy at Oklahoma that gets all the press.

Yall realize that if Matthews just catches that WIDE open 60+yard TD, and the ref on the sideline had the balls to overrule that crap OPI penalty on Brazzell that Joey would have had almost 500yds passing and 4TDs, as well as a rushing TD? He STILL finished with 330yds and 3 total TDs to go with 2 picks that were tipped balls that could have been caught.

Joey is on pace for a 3600yd, 36 passing TD regular season. Plus his rushing TDs. We need to knock off Bama on the road and get his hype train rolling for the Heisman. Sadly, if Gilbert didn't choke his kidneys up and miss that FG...our VOLS are undefeated ranked in the top5 and Joey is a national sensation.

Also...former VOL QB Kaidon Salter should have stayed at Liberty. He put up big numbers there and won a lot of games. He could probably have been a late round draft pick if he stayed. Instead he let Deion talk him into transferring to Colorado for a 1 year paycheck and to be "the guy" after Shedeur was gone.

Deion benched Salter after only 2 starts. There went any chance of a shot in the NFL. Short sighted choice by KS looks like its gonna cost him dearly. I pulled hard for the kid at Liberty, my son recently got his masters degree there and my daughter left Christian HS to do their dual enrollment homeschool HS/undergrad program. We have been very happy with Liberty fòr both kids.

Salter has played in every game and started the past two.

Hopefully he can hang on to that. I still dont think he sniffs the NFL now. You don't get benched in your "contract" year and then get drafted...not when you're already playing 2nd and 3rd class competition. He should have stayed at Liberty IMO.

There's a very real undercurrent of disrespct for anyone in Coach Huepel's offense. "They're all system player. It's all Heupel's offense, not the player. They could plug anyone in and have the same results." This is of course not only stupid, but extremely stupid. But, that's sports media for you.

It's sort of similar to how the talking heads treated kids who played for Mike Leach.

If there were any indication that he could replicate his 2023 numbers maybe, but this Liberty team is not that Liberty team. His numbers now aren't far from his 2024 numbers and it's against better competition.

While I agree this stigma exists...its days are numbered IMO. We put a WR in the NFL every year. Sometimes 2. Our starting RBs get drafted too in middle rounds by the Browns, Dolphins. We will put Kitselman in the NFL this year at TE, also Brazzell at WR who will be a top3 choice at WR for sure if he keeps it up.

Check out this list of 2024 thru 26 WRs and tell me how many you think make the NFL"
*Brazzell. 2024
Matthews
Staley
Smith. 2025
Jackson
*Jefferson
Dodson
Keys. 2026
Bey
King
Moa

I have been a VOLS fan for 48 years of life. Seen All Americans, All SEC WRs become Pro Bowlers time and again. I don't know that we have EVER landed this many highly ranked WRs in 3 years. Even when we were WRU in the 90s. Never. The WR class has also improved every year from 24 to 25 to 26 with us signing not only the consensus #1WR in Keys, but the #1 WR class in the country in 26 as well. Every one of Keys, Bey, King, and Moa could end up being NFL WRs. All of them are crazy athletes. The "lowest" rated one of the 4 is Legend Bey...and he is the fastest. His 10.2 in the 100M likely makes him the fastest player on the team the day he steps on campus. He isnt a skinny WR either. He plays QB in HS and returns kicks. He has the ball in his hands on every snap. Hope he takes to WR quickly, he is a great athlete. The other 3 in 2026 are already dominant at camps against D1 defensive backs etc.

I don't see how people can keep up the lie for long that UT athletes are "system" players. We are gonna keep putting them in the League and some of them are sure to excel when they get there IMO.

The media is really down on Heupel because of the '22 version of our offense. They think that is all Heupel does.

The reality is we are running way more condensed pro style sets now than we ever have. Anybody who is paying attention to what is actually happening with our offense sees that. Casual fans and the braindead sports media just continue to spout the same bull.

The real folks shaking in their boots are opposition recruiters. Their favorite shpeal against Heupel is that he cannot put guys into the NFL because of his gimmick offenses. Guess what? Chris Brazzell is out there running NFL style routes and cooking poor DBs in the backend. We have condensed TE sets that we run and pass out of. Our OL has a first round draft pick along with another 5 star that could very well be a first rounder in the near future.

TheFilmGuy had an interesting quote about this on stream this past week. He said that a Georgia staff member was talking to him about how they prepared for our wide split offense all week, just to face our condensed sets most of the night. He joked that they prepped for wide but ended up facing what Georgia runs and they could have just used their own offense for prep.

That crap use to be called HOME COOKING!! Watch any game played any where in the country on TV and you will see it. Now days "not enough evidence to overturn" or "that's a judgement call" or the official was not in position to see the play in question, etc. is the excuse to justify "home cooking". There is always a way to justify it.

Meaningless. Whatever the TV people and prognosticators say about UT right now, is meaningless. When we get to the end of the season, then we can celebrate them or, rip' em a new one, but midseason jabber is just that. Meaningless

I think it will continue until we put a WR in the league that can produce above average numbers. Unfortunately the WRs we have put into the league recently have all gone to terrible teams with terrible offenses.

Nailed. It. Heupel deserves a ton of credit for making the offense more complex this season. Teams have a lot more to prepare for now. We can still run this offense fast it’s just more difficult to react now. It also is quickly putting to bed the stigma that this offense doesn’t prep you for the NFL

If they don’t even acknowledge he is a Maxwell contender early on then they don’t have to put him in the discussion later. Clowns.
