Hear me out before you roast me. Outside of the stupid comments and gimmicks that Butch throws around, these two individuals are pretty much the same coach. Both are great recruiters, both are horrible in game coaches, and both are handcuffing their teams with their huge ego's and inept offences. Neither can beat you if they don't out talent you, except Urban's national title at OSU where they caught lightening in a bottle (give that trophy to Devin Smith). Both have been through multiple OC's and still have the same crappy offense. Everyone loves the idea of having Urban Meyer, well for the most part we have him. We need a HC that is defensive minded, Brent Venables, Bud Foster, ect.

Bro. Urban Meyer has been lights out at every coaching stop with every level of talent. I can't stand him. But he's won 3 national championships at 2 different schools. Look up how many coaches have that to hang their hat on....

Butch loses to teams he is better than in every way, shape and form....

Not sure if OP meant to use blue font or if really serious...

How many conference championships have both won?

How many 10 game win seasons have each had?

How many NC have both won?

Your comparison is like saying a Chevy Impala is a poor man's Porsche....Yeah they both are cars and have 4 wheels and both can go above the speed limit, but really, which one is going to win races?

Bad comparison IMO.

Butch would never go over the speed limit. The second he went 71 he would barrel roll into some ditch.

Urban Meyer is one of thre greatest college football coaches of all time.

Like top 10.

If you can name 10 who have accomplished more, particularly at his age, I'd love to hear them.

Ok so he was good at Utah with one of the best quarterbacks in the country in a weak ass conference. Sounds like Butch Jones at Central Michigan to me. He looked good at Florida with more talent than anyone in the country and one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all time. A great defensive coordinator and a great offensive coordinator. How did he look when those 3 left? Now he is at OSU, more talent than any team in the country not named Bama, and has won one divisional title in 5 years. Has played in one conference title since he has been there. Had been outcoached by Franklin, Lincoln Riley, Dantonio, Beamer, and many more that he only won because of talent alone. He is not a great coach, he is a great salesman.

If you take away all the winning, he's been terrible.

Dude. Who got those players?

Urban...

Who actually took them and won games with them?

Urban...

Who coached those championship games? Beating Nick Saban, Les Miles,...

Urban...

Butch Jones could take the 2008 Gators and go 8-4....

When has Urban done anything without Superior talent. I watch every OSU game to root against them, I see the same thing I see every Saturday when I watch Tennessee. Against Oklahoma start of second half, JK Dobbins rooms it down their throats, they score a touchdown. He doesn't see the ball the rest of the game. Michigan State a few years back, playoffs in their back pocket, windy and raining, Elliot running on Michigan State, let's throw the ball 30 times and lose. Was outcoached by Frank Beamer twice, just out talented them once. Out coached by Franklin. Guarantee with the same talent, there are a dozen or more coaches out there that win more conference titles and national titles than Urban.

He's Tennessee s version of Ron Zook, good recruiter lousy gameday coach.

^ This. At this point it looks like he's more suited to be a position coach/recruiting coordinator at a major program than a head coach...

Ok I said he is a great recruiters and salesman, he got the talent. Our talent is very good, poorly coached. If we played in the big ten, and had the same talent as OSU, or hell even the same talent we have now, and had only won one divisional title in 5 years. How many of you would be wanting to fahr Urban. Every damn one of you, is the correct answer. Until last year, which they still lost about every bowl game, the big ten had been quite possibly the worst power 5 conference since Urban had been there. He has won one divisional title, played in one more conference championship game than Butch. And the talent difference between OSU and the rest of their league is like putting Bama in the MAC. Say what you want but every person here would be calling for his head.

Urban Meyer is 166-30 in 16 years of coaching...with 3 national titles....that's a .847%

He had Cam Newton as a 2nd string QB at one point....let that sink in....

You need to go get some air dude.
