I am a James Bond freak! I just hope that Craig does not become George Lazenby, although I did not think he did that bad of a job. His problem was coming after Connery. Craig is just coming after Brosnan.

I will admit that I did not like the choice of Daniel Craig as the new Bond. I actually wanted Christian Bale but I think every thing is going to work out.

Craig doesn't look how I picture Bond at all. I think he was a poor choice. Hopefully some good acting will prove me wrong. I liked the James Bond spoof called "Casino Royale" it was hilarious. Maybe I can find that online somewhere...

It could have been worse. They could have gone after Colin Farrell. I think that Chuck Norris should be the next Bond. :birgits_giggle:

Are you talking about Casino Royale with Barry Williams?

Bond is an American CIA agent and Felix Leiter is from MI6.

I have that on VHS with my James Bond collection.

If you have read any of the novels Craig looks like Bond described in the books. Bond was not dashing, like Connery, but rather normal looking with a large scar on his face with quite a bad alcohol/smoking problem.

I think Craig will do very well as blonde, I mean Bond.

Hey, Moore pulled of Bond with light hair, heck his hair was Auburn in some parts of A View to Kill.

I have that one also, either are fairly rough.....

The best part in that whole movie is when they are out "bird hunting".

I will carry on a conversation with myself since no one else wants to talk about Bond.

(Q) Do you think it is a wise choice, to have Casino Royale restart the series from the beginning?

(A) Yes I do, Bond was at his best when he had a nemesis, whether it be smersh or spectre. Hopefully by restarting the Bond series with Casino Royale the producers can develop a strong arch enemy for Bond to go against.

My question is are they actually going to use smersh straight from the books? I mean, in the movies, I think smersh has shown up once, in a small role...

To my knowledge the only lengthy example of smersh in the movies is in From Russia with Love. In other movies there are discreet mentions but nothing as major as in From Russia with Love.

I do not necessarily want smersh or spectre to come back for that matter, but Bond needs a nemesis because the villians/meglomaniacs are tiresome.

I want world domination to sell newspapers! Yeah....right.......

I agree completely... the single diabolical mastermind becomes tiresome. The organizations of spectre and smersh are far more interesing from a plot standpoint.

Not really. But that is the first pick I've seen of Craig where he has darker hair, and is clean shaven. Maybe he won't be as bad as I anticipate.
