In the cases of both West and Jurick, most of the blame falls on the individuals and their high school programs for not being ready to make the jump into college.
From what I heard on the radio today, when West was ruled ineligible, Pearl never told him that he would have a scholarship available next year. It was West's decision to stick around on campus, complete, a year of school, and then try to rejoin the team. This was all from The Sports Animal, so take it for what it's worth. Also, CBP should have never had him stick around without a scholarship here if he was just going to recruit a juco PG to take his spot. Unless there is more to this story and West still wasn't going to qualify or something, CBP threw him under the bus.

Where else was West going to go? He wasn't eligible to play anywhere in the NCAAs this past season, so I don't see what he lost by completing a year of college.
And there's no way Goins is a better option than West. Why can't we just screw him over instead of a kid who stayed on school without a scholarship and worked his tail off? Not to mention Goins is a JC with less eligibility I'm guessing.
