I understand its a game winning play but it won the game over UAB, not UAT. Playing them in overtime is embarrassing. Carrying a player off the field like he won the Sears trophy convinces me that these kids have learned how to lose. This is a bigger project than just getting some more players.

Man, I thought the same thing. I'm glad they were excited and fought hard for the win, but carrying the guy for a spell?

At the same time, you never know what was going through their heads. They're excited about the win, so whatever makes you happy. They're obviously not thinking about it.

Signed,

I tend to agree with you, but we don't know what was said on the sidelines. Matbe the WRs were challenged before the OT due to the pathetic preformance in the previous 4 quarters, maybe Moore was challenged in front of others by the WR coach or even Dooley, maybe the entire office was called out by Dooley. Let's hope it was something to this nature and more of a celebration that they responding to a coach's challenge rather than beating UAB in OT.

These players have to learn how to win. Our program was burnt to the ground over the last 3 years and you are gonna hate on them for feeling good about winning? :ermm:
Have a look at our roster and get back with me.

I thought it meant they were excited to win a game in OT? They're kids (your words) so of course they are going to be excited...half of them just won their 2nd game in college. Everything is a learning process right now....even how to react to winning a game. They just came off 2 tough losses and nearly dropped this one, so it's ok for them to celebrate. If they had done nothing there would be complaints about that.

As many freshman as we have playing, carrying D. Moore off the field is fine. This is a bigger and better experience than they witnessed in high school.

If it takes carrying a player off the field to get the W, I'll take it every week even if it's against Tennessee School of Deaf.

I just had a look at our roster, thanks for the suggestion, it was helpful. You're right, our roster sucks out loud compared to UAB. I had no idea they have had so many highly regarded recruiting classes. That coach should be fired first thing in the morning for losing to a pile of slop like Tennessee.

How dare these guys? Making a game winning catch in double overtime over two defenders should be treated like an every day occurance to these players. GET REAL!!!

Was I celebrating in my living room because we escaped with a win over UAB of course not. These are players not fans. Since they have arrived on campus this program has been mediocre at best. When thats the kind of career you have experienced then you are going to get reactions from teams like you saw today. When you compete for SEC championships and play in BCS bowls year in year out you tell your kids to act like they have been there before but guess what these guys haven't.

I was just as fired up as the players! I was hugging and jumping up and down with a friend of mine in the living room (no homo) A win is a win. I'd rather play like Shat and win against uab than play like Shat and lose to uab. Go Vols!!!!

I just breathed a huge sigh of relief. I wasn't too jubilant; but given what a lot of these guys have gone through over the past couple years, I don't mind at all them celebrating a win.

Every win should be celebrated. But some shouldn't be celebrated like they just pulled a major upset when in reality they just escaped one.

really brings home the reality of what these players have been through ...
That's the thing. Everybody always says to "act like you've done it before." You have to remember that a lot of these guys just haven't experienced very many high spots in their college careers.

Well, I kinda agree but they were coming off a 2 game losing streak and with everything else that's gone on with the team and a much harder game than anyone thought, I think they were just happy and excited to win that's all!

Yea maybe dooley should hire you to educate the team on the different levels of celebration allowed according to the quality of the win.
