Need some help planning the next get-away with the wife. We have already done Jamaica and want to check out some place new. Mainly just looking for relaxation, good food/drink, and scenic beauty. Any suggestions or places that you would steer clear from?

Thanks. St. Thomas is definitely on the radar. Have also heard a little about Coca Cay. Will have to research that one a little more. Any profound differences in USVI and British Virgin Islands other than the obvious?

what are some of the things you want to have at your disposal? I spent my honeymoon on the island of Antigua. It was absolutely wonderful, but like others it is almost third world when you stray from the touristy areas. Have tons of pics and links I can share if you are interested.

Not to steal Old School's thunder but I have a question. I'm getting married next July and we are thinking about going to Cabo for the honeymoon. Anyone ever been?

I just went to cabo. Stayed at the pueblo bonita pacifica which was fanstastic and would be perfect for a honeymoon. I liked Cabo, but it was very very expensive and they rip you at every opportunity. Even if you try to get out of the touristy areas. The mexican food in cabo is more expensive than it is in Los Angeles. They charge you for chips and salsa, they rip you for bottles of water, fishing, EVERYTHING. Personally I think Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are much nicer and if you are paying resort prices you might as well go there. My $.02

Luckil my parents will be paying for the honeymoon and I'm going all inclusive so I'm not that worried about restaurants and that stuff.

There are just so many places to go it makes choosing kinda difficult.

I have friends that have enjoyed St. Lucia and Bermuda. I've only been to Jamaica (nice, if you stay in a nice resort), Grand Cayman (cool to visit. . . .for a day), and Cozymel (not impressed).

No worries JZ. Have spent a day in Cabo on a cruise and agree that it is beautiful there, but didn't think that my bank account would allow me to enjoy myself there as it would at other places.

Previously we have stayed at the all inclusives (Montego Bay, Punta Cana, and Playa del Carmen) and really enjoy that model. Mostly interested in good food, good drink, good scenery. Not as interested in doing the out back jeep rides/ parasailing and all that other crap as I was a few years back. St. Lucia seems to be the winner thus far. Can anyone compare it with St. Thomas/St. Barts, St. Marteen/etc???

St. Lucia was great. We stayed at Sandals which has three different resorts on the island that you can visit for free with a comp shuttle. Also, if they have space available, you can get a room to shower/clean-up in if you are visiting a different Sandals than the one you are booked at.
