Capital One Bowl: Nebraska vs. South Carolina

Thank you. I hope we can continue to build on this. It's SC's first eleven win season in SC football history.

Yup.. congrats. It is interesting that Spurrier has been there for (how long now?) and a Citrus Bowl win is celebrated with such vigor. Don't get me wrong, it is a great win.. but it really illustrates just how spoiled UT fans have been in years past. It has taken "The old ball coach" this long to just get a Citrus Bowl win.. and we are expecting Dooley to win a NC with a bare cupboard...

plus.. I hate Nebraska..

Spurrier, a real coach. Loses starting QB and one of the best rbs in the country and still wins 11 games.

How long has he been there and what did his w/l ratio look like in his first few years at sc?

That's my point exactly. People expect miracles here at UT, and it took a long time for Spurrier to get this kind of season.

at SC, with more in state talent than TN has:

7-5
8-5
6-6
7-6
7-6
9-5
11-2

Won 8 games once in a 5 yr span and went 3 years straight without 8.
And yes, Spurrier is a HOF coach.

He didn't start locking down the in-state talent until recently. He's done a damn good job.

So do you wish the school would have run him off after being 6-6 in his 3rd year?
UT's fanbase expects results now and championships now. No excuses. I know SC football is important, but that 5 yr run of his may have sent 2 UT coaches packing.
