Nature of loss hurt and the total ineffectiveness of the Butch-fense with this talent is a definite talking point but we can't judge anything on the Bama loss.

We caught Bama's best game and 8 games in a row with the injuries could not be overcome.

Any further loss should be rightly condemned (and I'm not convinced we don't sleepwalk and stumble again) but I think there is a real chance Florida runs the table.

The nature of the A&M loss was indicative of a lack of game focus and preparation prevalent throughout this season. Just should not have lost that game.

It's going to hurt not going to Atlanta having not corrected the lack of focus. Should have taken care of our business against A&M.

Judging the play calling, the coaches went all out on the A&M game and played it safe against Bama. Shame we couldn't beat AM.

I still think Florida loses at least one game.

loses one sec game or one game in general? (still have florida state which wouldn't effect the SEC east race)

Imo the coaches decided around the third quarter that there was a slim chance to win and with a bye next week decided to just finish the game and not try . The AM game he knew he couldn't rest after that game and possible put everything he had into it

It's almost as if A&M's defense sucks and Alabama's is elite.

yeah...because it couldn't be that we kicked it into another gear offensively...just like we did against Florida's vaunted defense. Let's just automatically assume our opponents must suck because we did something good! Good Grief!...SMH

We had
224
220
185 pound guys as our LBs.

They were the primary run support.

Here is something worth pondering. How many more years does Butch need? I get the philosophy, clichés, quotes, readings, teachings and anything else he comes up with, but when will it be time to back it up? I get that our team was depleted during the Dooley years. Year 4 and we still live by these mottos. Butch's coach speak is doing him no favors. It is still a process, it is brick by brick...yada yada yada. He is losing the really good recruits because of his system (offense). This year has been a wonder that we are 5-2 with the rash of injuries. Either talent is being over exaggerated or they are not being developed properly. Why is it that our SR. QB cannot throw a basic intermediate throw? He hits a couple of bombs which was by way of the WR doing most of the work. 2 for 14 10 yards plus against what turned out to be an average A & M defense. Why is it that our boys struggled against two smaller schools both in our building. Don't give me because Appy State is good. Miami Hurricanes went into Boone and laid a wood shed whooping. So with this said, is Butch the long term answer?

We did beat A&M.....well unless you look at the final score. We gave them 7 %^&*(*&%$ turnovers that equaled to ( I think 21) points....there is your ball game.

I did not get to watch the game so I don't know the full extent of the turnovers buy holy sheet. We were darn lucky to go to OT after 7 turnovers. I read somewhere that Butch should have gone for 2 after the score to tie. Have a pair and maybe end the game in regulation.

Ohhh well....I am taking 2 weeks off from football totally. My blood pressure will hopefully return to normal by the LameCocks game. GO VOLS!!!

PS....agree on the Gators....no way they win out.

I'm not sure what the Butchfence is? When we play a decent team we just lean on Dobbs to use that big brain and figure something out.

Kiffin left with his recruits, Dooley couldn't recruit and now we have Butch. He came in the program when it was at rock bottom. He has had to build this program from the ground up. He hasn't had the luxury of allowing his recruits to work out, build muscle, and learn on the sidelines during games for a season. He's having to play them right out of high school. Our coach is turning this program around. I get people being upset over this weekend, we love our team and want them to win every weekend. It's just not realistic, yet! Get behind our team, our coach, they need our support. Go Vols!!

He could have gone for 2 after the last score and maybe ended it in regulation, but in retrospect A&M did get an attempt at a fg before the clock ran out and missed it. If they had made that fg it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

4 O-Linemen out and the other had surgery today.

We could sorta hold up with 2, 3 was really bad, 4th was disastrous and the one left was probably limited like he was a replacement.

You can't run your 3rd string line against #1 team and do much! ( Fyi we had 5 starters, 2 subs and then guys that weren't ready yet) That left us with 2 subs and 3 that weren't ready yet in the game!

Its no excuse, it just explains why team we had Saturday - not same team we played UF with.

We won't do well going forward either unless some can come back!

Go Vols, Get well soon! Literally.

First time you get a like from me. I am in total agreement this time. The players EARNED that A&M game. The fans that spent hard earned cash and cheered till the end EARNED that game. We should have walked away with it. Nobody is pissed we have losses. We are pissed we are not going for the win. Watch out for Muschamp people.

Certainly donate if able, but stay out yonder

Butch hired DeBord as a favor to run his offense (the Butch-fense).

I didn't have as much problem with the hire as others. Continuity is important and I thought DeBord had the background with Butch to add a level of SEC toughness. I thought that was happening at Northwestern.

The hire HAD to work though. I'm concerned at the reduced yards per carry this season which should not happen. I'm concerned there is no consideration of our personnel. I'm deeply concerned that any team seems able to completely disrupt the rhythm of the Butch-fense to say nothing of elite SEC front sevens.
