Cant beat anyone without a QB

No, he was. The teams played similarly everywhere except Bennett outplayed JG.

Not true. Look at total yards and time of possession in the first half (when we were leading) and the full game. Big defensive plays in the first half were all that kept us in it.

And this is hard to admit, but true. The first half and full game stats both reveal it.

We had some bright spots on defense, though. Our front seven played well, and I think our DC made some nice adjustments to shut them down for awhile. The defense just got gassed in the second half because the inept offense couldn’t keep the ball.
We certainly had some good moments but not an entire game. It is what it is

Their defense is clearly far better than ours. Everyone on the planet except for some people on this website can see that
Well duh I'm not saying they arent. But UTs defense played really well, including somehow keeping Georgia to 2 FGs after JG crapped his pants. If JG doesn't keep turning it over in his own territory and getting the D back on the field so quickly, they would have looked really good. JG plays a solid game and it's close late in the 4th.

It’s not just JG. He’s a big part of it though. O line played horrible.
I would personally like to see how much the others improve if they had someone who could keep D's honest by burning them when they blitz and consistently hitting the deeps stuff. JG made two very good throws. I'm convinced from last year that Shrout or Maurer could have made both of those throws. HB likely could as well. Otherwise, UGA kept everything in front of them and then played downhill. They manned up against UT outside because they did not believe JG can consistently lead receivers into plays and throws late on deep throws.

He's a good kid with a lot of the attributes you want in a player and a QB. But he has weaknesses that a RS Sr should not have if he has the innate ability to overcome them.

Only fault I lay at Pruitts feet is being stubborn about playing JG

We lost the battle in the trenches because we dont have a threat at QB. Plain and simple

Kirby stacked the box and dared JG to beat him. It was done at that moment. JG made the first fumble and he was done.

He seems like a great kid, but he cant handle the pressures of the game when something goes bad. Adversity gets the best of him. He cant perform when the chips are down

Hes a 5th year senior playing like a true freshman

Pruitt needs to recognize this and pull the plug on JG.

Our other players deserve a leader that elevates the team and not one thats a constant liability

The rest of the team played well, especially the D. But the just couldnt keep up while being put in bad sitiations because of JG

JG is our Achilles Heel
Amazing how all the experts don't get this.
He was getting 3 seconds or more most plays
Just doesn't get it

Go ahead and throw some freshman out there to Georgia’s defense and think it’s going to be better
Not trying to bring up old Sh** but that’s exactly what they did last year. Georgia was ranked #3 and had possibly the best defense in the country. That freshman they threw to them threw for over 250 yards in a half.

He threw a td on a 50/50 ball and then threw a really good pass for another. That's all we got out of him. If we're going to have to lean that heavily on the defense you may as well see if anyone behind him has any more awareness than he has.

JG takes advantage of this year not counting in eligibility and decides to come back for what seems like year 8

JG isn’t great but he’s not the reason we were shellacked like that. We were outclassed in most facets of the game.
He isn't the sole reason our butts were handed to us but he is a dead end. We need to try Maurer, Shrout or some body for the future; we haven't even let another qb take any snaps all year. What if JG goes down; the backup has not had a live snap this year. Stupid

Steve Young would have folded under that excuse of an oline

Dude... Steve Young would’ve done so much more than what JG did. He would’ve stepped up, scrambled out and made the play or just got the yards himself. You’re talking about one of the most complete QBs to ever play the game. Probably one of the worst examples you could give...

Wanna see really good QB play?

Watch a game when Tennessee goes up against an opposing QB with little to no prior playing time who is a true freshman, a back-up, or an unknown walk-on. Guaranteed we’ll give up many 3rd-and-long plays, commit ill-timed (and pointless) penalties to extend his drives, and otherwise screw up enough to give him confidence and momentum to have a great game.

The OL played poorly, specifically in the 2nd half .

Having said that, UGA wasn't worried about JG beating them. They loaded up, stopped the run, and then forced him to react pre snap to pressure.

JG may be the best option today. I'm not gonna pretend to know that better than the guys getting paid to know. What I do know, hes a liability against a good defense.

That's a small piece of the equation, the receivers weren't getting open quick enough, there isn't a qb in the country that was going to win with our players tonight. We do need to get better at the position though. And we need a threat at TE as well.

I just dont understand why we dont use TEs more

For whatever reason we either don't recruit it well or don't think it a priority. Given the trend toward the position in the game today I don't understand it either. It would have helped us immensely tonight if we had a real threat there.

It’s completely mystifying. We look nothing like any of the upper echelon offenses in the SEC. Weapons at every position for those guys and we struggle to execute the most basic of plays.

I'm ready to roll with Strout and Mauer until Bailey is ready. Goodness I am sick of watching JG collapse against better teams. He won't ever when a game like today. We need to roll with the ones that can improve and shown they can throw on time.
